We're excited because Ahri actually got some lore that progressed her story forward. With the release of The Ruined King game, Ahri developed some friendships, found out about those rocks she's been carrying around, and solved her dark and shady past. So rare! While Aurora is quite cute, and a little different from most champions that come from the Frejlord, we seem to be the most excited about Anivia getting some attention for once. Look, we know yordles don't have a lot of lore, but this is ridiculous. Between his bio, comic, and short story, nothing we have here is even canon anymore. I guess the thing about getting to the end of the alphabet is that we're rarely going to read anything new. Zed is tied up with a ton of other champions in Ionia. Between Shen, Jhin, Akali, and Kennen, we have read about the Kinkou Order a dozen times already. It was still nice to discuss Zed's POV. Is he...not a villain? Although The Magical Cat isn't a yordle, she has about as much lore as one. Yuumi is different from a lot of other champions fighting their way around Runeterra, so it's only natural she hangs out with the other stuff a little too cute for all the monsters and world-ending crap. We hope she finds her yordle! Trapped in between portals??? That only she can make with a book???? Unless anyone can now...

Oh just when we think we're done talking about Rise of the Sentinels, it's here to ruin something else. Yorick is an important figure in The Shadow Isles, and even apparently had a run in with Viego at some point, and yet... The poor fella has no involvement in taking Hot Cross Buns out! One sword, two swords, red sword, whose swords? Yone, they're Yone's swords. Unlike his  highly catalogued brother, Yone has only a smattering of lore. The pieces about him tend to get caught up in the flash of his blades, and don't let us peel back the mask to see the character underneath. There were certain versions of Yone we preferred over others, and his and Yasuo's cooking AU left us  all hu...

While not a favorite on the Rift (at least not in NA apparently), Yasuo is a favorite lore-wise for many League fans, and we can see why. With a ton of short stories and some genuinely cool cinematics, Yasuo works. Just...not in game. Please stop bringing him bot lane I beg you. Thank you to Tony for joining us this episode! Apparently we didn't complain about Azir and Xerath enough in the Azir episode. In our defense, that was like two years ago. So. Skarner isn't from Shurima anymore. Neat! Unfortunately, while we are interested in some of what they've decided to do with Skarner, he's mostly just sitting around and waiting.
