Is there anything that God can not do? Not according to His Word. But could God’s plans ever be delayed or hindered because of a lack of cooperation on our part? Sounds absurd, doesn’t it, that we may be able to hinder the plans of the Mighty God? This morning we’re going to see if it is possible, and if it is,how to be sure we are cooperating with God, and not hindering His plans.

“Dad”- it’s an immensely powerful word no matter how old you are. This is because a father’s influence reaches beyond childhood; it spans generations. Fathers leave a soul-deep mark on their children and future generations. This morning, we’re going to see that God has provided men clear steps toward experiencing authentic manhood and becoming successful dads.

Opinions. We all have them. We all have ways of looking at and interpreting things, and most of us are quite comfortable with our opinions. However, when it comes to something as important as preparing for eternity, do we want to rely on our own opinion about how to get to heaven, or is there someone else’s opinion we should be listening to, like someone with authority?

Foundations matter. Don't believe it? Just try building anything on an unsure foundation. The teachings in the Sermon on the Mount are challenging, yet Jesus admonishes His followers to be wise and build their lives on the rock of His words. Today, let's play the building inspector role and check our foundations to be sure what we are building on will stand through the storms of life.

If someone asked you to explain the difference between knowing about Jesus and knowing Him, what would you say? Many people know about Jesus. Many even claim to believe in Him. However, as we’re going to see this morning, there is a vast difference between knowing about Jesus, and knowing Him, between believing in Him and following Him.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus admonishes those who would follow Him to beware. His followers are to be on the lookout for false teachers who lead people astray. He tells us today to inspect the fruit of these teachers to see if what they are saying contradicts the truth. Now more than ever, we must be prepared to hold on to sound doctrine.

In today’s passage, Jesus compares two different roads and two different gates. One is a broad road with a wide gate. The other is a narrow road with a small gate. What’s the difference? More importantly, upon which road are you?
