In this final message of our Psalm 23 series, Pastor Frank helps us to realize this Biblical principle: WHAT YOU FOLLOW WILL FOLLOW YOU. We see this in our final verse of this chapter. We all have a trail of character traits that follow us based on who we follow. If you want goodness, love, and mercy to follow you, then follow the Good Shepherd.

After coming out of the Valley of Shadows, we find that the Good Shepherd has prepared a table to bless and nourish us. He allows no enemies at this table. His anointing oil of the Holy Spirit relieves our troubles and our wounds. The Shepherd confirms his desire for us by the overflow of the cup of favor.

When we trust and follow the Good Shepherd, he proves that he goes before us through the valley of the shadow of death.  During these troubling times, we are experiencing fear and loneliness that are bringing us very close to the valley of shadows.  Now more than ever, we need to gaze our eyes on our Shepherd, keep him close, and trust his rod and staff.

Even when we follow the Good Shepherd on paths of righteousness, we will often need to be restored.  We may explore other paths and find ourselves downcast.  In this third week of our Psalm 23 series, Pastor Frank Bennett shares how we can be restored when we get off of the right path.
