On the weekend of KRNU's 50th anniversary in February of 2020, former UNL Broadcasting Department Chairman, Larry Walklin, visited Campus Voices to discuss the station's creation and history. Walklin was in charge of the Broadcasting major at the time the station signed on in 1970 and was instrumental in its creation. He served as the station's first general manager from 1970 until 1995.
