The Baptism of the Lord celebrates when Jesus was baptised, and reminds us of our calling as a baptised and baptising people for our hearts to be transformed by Jesus for the sake of the world. Our teaching was delivered by Mitchell Anderson. Our teaching text was Luke 3:1-22 .

The Epiphany of the Lord celebrates when wise people from the East came to offer Jesus gifts. They were transformed by their encounter with him, just as Jesus transforms our lives and transforms the world. Merry Christmas! Each we celebrate the mystery of the Incarnation, how God walks with us as Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh who reconciles and makes new. The sermon was delivered by Mitchell Anderson, our student minister, and was based on Isaiah 9:2-7, Philippians 2:1-11, and Luke 2:1-14.

On the fourth Sunday of Advent we celebrate love. We look to Isaiah the prophet who gifts to use four Servant Songs, teaching us the way of love that we meet in Jesus Christ who bears the grief, pain, and suffering of the world to teach us how to live in love. On the third Sunday of Advent we celebrate joy. We look to Mary's new song of joy to celebrate how God lifts up the oppressed to the high places and fills the hungry with good things, that our hearts might leap with joy every time we hear her words. On the second Sunday of Advent we celebrate peace. We look to Hannah's new song of peace to celebrate how God lifts up the poor to seats of honour amongst the princes, always joining the side of the poor, marginalised, and oppressed. We begin a new church year with the first Sunday in Advent, celebrating hope. We look to Zechariah's new song of hope to remember the promises God has made to our ancestors as we look ahead to how Jesus will come again into the world with the promise of hope.
