Porting over a few episodes from The True Hippie Chronicles Podcast. In this episode, a reading from my recently completed memoir, The Gentlemanly Art of Spanking, 'Cloud Stories, Part One.'

Every time I see a white butterfly, I take it to be a message from elsewhere that I am not alone and things are going to be okay.  Is that crazy? Maybe. As John Lennon said, "Whatever gets through the night." And I guess I need help these days.

The not-so-obvious, even to me, reason I let the True Hippie Chronicles podcast go.

I love this song. Of course I need to rerecord the vocal and guitar part. I need a sax player for the instrumental break. And I think I should bring a drummer and a stand-up bass player into the studio.

So far, I haven't come up with anything that seems right. I'm sure it will appear or manifest itself, as they say, one of these days. Nonetheless, I'm very happy with how the album is coming along.  

Leave The Beatles' music alone. Stop. Right. Now. Keep this no-talent wannabe nepo baby away from their music. All anybody needs is the MONO MIXES—They contain every bit of information and musicality the Beatles and George Martin wanted to share with us.

Everything about this album smacks of trying to hard to be perceived as a bad boy. Good bad, not evil, as the girl said in "Leader of the Pack."  Hipster rebellion signalling, forced, insincere, trying too damn hard. More appropriate for a guy fifty years younger.

Thank you Black People for everything. Happy Juneteenth. Thank you, also, Willie Mays, my first real-life hero. You will never be forgotten.

I witnessed a stranger's kindness to another stranger the other night in a Safeway parking lot. It was lovely to see.

It's been over four years since I posted a version of this song. I listened to the album the other night for the first time in a year or more. Inasmuch that I don't like the sound most of my vocals—I paid a guy a lot of money to mix the album who did not know how to mix vocals (live and learn!)—the arrangements stand up. Someone wrote and asked what a roué is. A French term, a roué is many things, mostly bad. But an accomplished roué? That's another story.

I'm halfway through this thoughtful and detailed biography of Candida Royalle, aka Candice Vadala, writer, singer, porn star, porn director. A renaissance woman gone far to soon.

Definitely a number of essential songs on this list, but they missed a number of mind-bending classic psychedelic songs, just off the top of my head. Nonetheless, fun to think about.

I saw Love Lies Bleeding the other night. Really well done, but a little too noir for me.
