Knowing God With Heart and Mind

Our Journey through the Fruit of the Spirit is down to two now. This Sunday we will consider "Faithfulness." What is faithfulness? Is it about believing in something or someone? Or, is it deeper than that? You've probably guessed that it goes deeper and you will find out how when you join the Shiloh family in worship Sunday.

Did you know the ancient Hebrew word for "patience" translates to an idiom that means, "long of nose"? How does that represent a Fruit of the Spirit? Well, the Greek words used by the Apostle Paul in the New Testament have similar meanings, but it drives toward a God-like quality. See it's like this, you ........ You better just listen.

What is gentleness? Is it the same as meekness? If you could inherit anything you ever wanted, what would it be? How would it change your life?

The fruit of the Spirit that Paul calls “goodness” seems easy enough to understand, but is it really as simple as being a good person? According to what standards? Jesus once asked, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone." If that's true, we have a big problem.

How can you avoid growing the fruit of the flesh when it keeps popping up like persistent weeds among our good Spiritual fruit? "Nip it in the bud!" It takes help from the LORD and He is willing and able to help you succeed.

What is joy? Is it the same as happiness? Is joy tied to circumstances? What does the Apostle Paul mean when he says, "...but we rejoice in our sufferings" (Rm. 5:3)?

Ever wonder if God is at work in and around you? Do you believe in salvation and a new life in Christ, but don’t feel sure if it works for you? Starting this Sunday, April 16, Pastor Dan and the Shiloh worship team will examine the Fruit of the Spirit as described by the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Galatian Christians.

Celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with the Shiloh family this Sunday. Worship, Prayer, Learn, and Serve the Risen Lord. Embrace the Holy Spirit that makes us the family of God because of what Christ has done. 

It's Palm/Passion Sunday again at Shiloh Church. It marks the beginning of Holy Week, which is a time for remembering everything that happened to our Lord during his last visit to Jerusalem.

We encounter a man this weekend who'd been a victim of circumstances beyond his control. He was crippled for most of his life and, by the time we meet him, he lives hovering just above death. His life is meaningless, repetitive, misery until Jesus approached him and asked, "Wilt thou be made whole?" 

What does Jesus mean when he says “you must be born again”? How does that even work? That would change everything about my life. It would be like starting all over again. What if I can’t do it? Am I lost forever? 

What if worshiping and serving in the local church wasn’t about what you want or need from the LORD, but what the LORD wants or needs from you? If you thirst for more and desire a faith beyond the temporal realms of the flesh, “come.” You don’t need or want anything more than this.

All Saint's Sunday also serves as a precursor to Advent as a season of anticipation.
