Believers have been chosen by God to be set apart as a holy nation and priesthood to proclaim the “excellencies” of God. The challenge is not to emulate or escape the culture but to engage people in the culture for the gospel.

As a result of our living hope in Jesus Christ we are called to a gospel shaped love for others and thirst for more of the Word of God.

Living life in the living hope of our salvation.

Our salvation gives us a living hope, because Jesus Christ is alive.

Introduction to the book of 1 Peter. A letter (Epistle) written to Christian’s scattered through out Asia Minor for the purpose of encouraging them in the midst of suffering and persecution.

Genesis 50: The final chapter: Joseph buries his father in the Promise Land and reassures his brothers of his forgiveness. Joseph then dies, leaving his body in Egypt as a memorial of the hope he has in the promises of God. Part 47 of Genesis.

Genesis 49: Jacob calls his sons together and tells them what their future holds. Part 46

Genesis 48: Jacob adopts and blesses his grandchildren making them heirs equal to the inheritance of his own sons. Part 45

Genesis 47: As the foretold famine was still very much present in the land Joseph strategizes a plan to keep the people fed. Jacob aslo prepares for his own death and makes known his request for burial. Part 40

Genesis 46: By faith Israel(Jacob) leaves the Promise Land to be reunited with his son Joseph in Egypt. Part 39 Genesis 46:1 - 47:12

Genesis 45: After years of thinking Joseph is dead, Joseph finally reveals his true identity to his brothers. Part 38

Genesis 44: Just when Joseph’s brothers think they are in the clear and all is looking up for them, Joseph puts them to the test. This time with their youngest brother Benjamin.

Genesis 43: Jacob sends all his sons back to Egypt for food as God continues to prepare the hearts of this family for reconciliation. Part 36

Genesis 42: This chapter reveals two things: how God used Joseph to move his family to Egypt and how God used Joseph to reveal to his brothers, the other sons of Jacob, their sin and guilt. Part 35

Genesis 41: These final events of Joseph’s imprisonment to becoming Prime Minster were arranged by God to make Joseph an extraordinary instrument for the preservation of God’s people fulfilling His promise of redemption and salvation for the world. Part 34

Genesis 40: Despite being wrongfully thrown into prison Joseph remains focused on God and gives Him all the glory. Part 33

Genesis 39: Joseph experiences more hardship as he is placed as the head servant in Potiphar’s house. But though it seems things are looking up for Joseph, Potiphar’s wife makes life in the house very difficult for Joseph. Even through this hardship God is still in control and ever present with Joseph. Part 32

Genesis 37: Joseph, one of the sons of Jacob, is chosen and used by God to fulfill His plan of salvation.

Matthew 5:10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
