Luke 2:6-20 Matthew 2:1-15 Advent as a story of hope because God chooses forgotten, ignored, ordinary people to be part of His glorious kingdom.  Ministry as part of ordinary life - you are not defined by what you do, but by who you are while you do it.

1 John 4:7-21 John tells us that we, the church, are to love one another like God loves us, because God loved us first. He helps the early church to work out which messengers are from God, and which or not. And he reminds us that we can't love God and hate a brother or sister at the same time.
