King Of The What Now?

The stage is set and the battle begins between Luffy and Crocodile! And.... ends with the protagonist... defeated!? Not only is there a dramatic battle, but we also have ducks being the best gosh darn animal companions they can be. This leads into discussions of One Piece animals at large, talk of the deeper lore surrounding devil fruits, and Curtis plays a clever trick when asked to theorize.

For this week's episode, we return to the main canon of One Piece, and most of the straw hats have been captured! We talk a lot about Miss All Sunday, including the strange name of her devil fruit, and the mysterious origin of her bounty. Things in Alabasta are really heating up and we're about to start the climax of the arc!

Chopper becomes king of the animals in the third One Piece movie, and Curtis laments the fact that our furry anime friend didn't get to do much despite it being his movie! Then we move on to talking about soccer and curling, and which villain would be most likely to play tennis? All that and more in this week's episode of King of the What Now!

It's got an ancient treasure of the gods, it's got a talking bat, and best of all, it has a pirate whose name is Captain Joke! This episode raises more questions than it can possibly answer, but it's still a fun ride anyway...

A lot happens in these episodes of One Piece, so be prepared to be on the edge of your seat. We find out the identity of Sara Hamm, we get a confrontation between Luffy and Buggy, Luffy and Smoker, Zoro and Tashigi, and the appearance of the character with the coolest character name ever! Ah yes, what better way to usher in a new arc than with episodes that feel like filler and focus not on the protagonists, but the miniature version of a clown villain from a couple arcs ago? Luffy draws ever closer to the Grand Line, our ideas and speculations get even wackier, and we have a special guest co-host this week! Plus, who could the mysterious "Sara Ham" be? We explore how the Luffy Arlong battle was awesome despite it basically lacking choreography or complexity one sometimes expects from a shonen battle anime.
