In this month’s Radio Book Club, we spoke with Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock about her debut Young Adult (YA) novel The Smell of Other People’s Houses. About the book: In Alaska, 1970, being a teenager here isn t like being a teenager anywhere else.

In this month’s bookclub, Denver author Gregory Hill joins KGNU’s Maeve Conran and Arsen Kashkashian, head buyer at the Boulder Bookstore, to talk with them about his latest book The Lonesome Trials of Johnny Riles.   About: Johnny Riles is in a rough patch. He’s lonesome, he’s drunk, and someone’s murdered his horse.

On this month’s Radio Bookclub, BK Loren joins KGNU’s Maeve Conran and Arsen Kashkashian, head buyer at the Boulder Bookstore to talk about her book Theft.   About Theft: Willa Robbins is a master tracker working to reintroduce the Mexican wolf, North America’s most endangered mammal, to the American Southwest.

McBrearty joined us live on Thursday January 7th to talk about his debut novel Western Lonesome Society. He has written three previous collections of stories.   In this hilarious, poignant, over-the-top Western, readers are introduced to Jim O Brien who is writing a quixotic saga of his ancestors who grew up with a tribe of Comanche.

This month, Hampton Sides joins us to talk about his new book In The Kingdom of Ice, our first non-fiction Bookclub selection!   KGNU is partnering with the Boulder Bookstore for our radio book club. Every month Arsen Kashkashian, head buyer at the Boulder Bookstore, will select a book to inspire the KGNU listening audience.
