I came across the book ‘Folk Medicine in Southern Appalachia’ by Anthony Cavender and found the content so entertaining I decided it needed to be an episode. And then two episodes. Maybe three? Lots of turpentine, sulfur, onions and arsenic. What an uncomfortable time to be alive.
