When Jesus died, hope died along with him. No one was planning to keep this new movement going, because, after all, it seemed Jesus wasn’t who he had claimed to be. Immediately following the crucifixion, there were no Christians, because there was no Christ. But then something happened.

The last 365 days have been unlike anything we’ve ever experienced before. While we’re all ready for better days, it would be unwise to move forward without first looking back and internalizing the lessons that are worth carrying with us into the future.

Does the church still matter? If the message of Jesus is true, then the value of the church in our local communities matters deeply. And at the core of that message is the powerful idea that everyone matters.

Relationships are not easy. But the quality of our lives depends on the quality of our relationships, so maybe it’s time to start rewriting the rules. Even though it’s hard, maybe it’s worth figuring out.

During times of crisis, there is something Christians should be doing above anything else. Doing this won’t answer why bad things happen, but it will demonstrate where our hope lies.

If your main goal is your kid's obedience, you're settling for something less than and you're setting yourself up to have anger stirred up regularly. Instead of obedience being the objective, there's a long-term target that will go a long way toward winning as a parent.

When our kids mess up, our tendency is to take something away from them. However, punishment shouldn't be the end goal of discipline. Restoration should be.
