After the near-record cold of yesterday and a slight moderation today, temperatures will warm to above seasonable levels for the coming weekend, which also looks mostly dry. We then discuss the relative quiet of the tropics now and some of the rapidly intensifying storms we saw previously.

In this episode we discuss the winter-like temperatures that are about to descend upon the northeast. There won’t be any large storms nearby to interact with this cold air mass, but it’s time to brush up on our knowledge of nor’easters. A squall line is quickly approaching our region and may produce strong wind gusts. Colder weather is then forecasted this week. We’re also monitoring hurricane Iota, which could become a major hurricane.

Late in the day tomorrow a strong cold front is expected to move through. This will be accompanied by a band of heavy showers, and gusty winds are expected during and immediately following the front’s passage. The next Greek system is also firing up in the Caribbean, and it looks like it’s going to be a big deal in Nicaragua and Honduras.

A cold front and trough will provide us with rain tonight and tomorrow. Also, we are watching another front over the weekend that will usher in a much colder pattern. There are also 3 systems we’re monitoring in the tropics.

Our gorgeous spell of weather is about to come to an end. A cold front will stall across the region over the next few days and become a large rain producer. Tropical storm Eta is about to impact the United States as well and tropical storm theta formed last night, making this the most active hurricane season on record. There’s more where that came from too.

Eta may strengthen into a hurricane as it approaches the FL Keys. We’re also monitoring two additional systems in the Atlantic Basin that could become tropical cyclones. Last, we discuss the statistics of this hurricane season.

Record breaking warmth occurred in our region today and this will likely continue into tomorrow as high pressure builds overhead. Rain is in the forecast though in just a few days. We’re also watching tropical storm Eta. Uncertainty abounds with this one, especially in terms of its track, but this looks like a long-duration event in Florida.

An amazing weekend is forecasted, with lots of sun and unseasonably warm temperatures. We’re also monitoring Eta and it’s potential impacts in FL next week. Bear with my speech impediment lol

Hurricane Eta has rapidly strengthened into a strong category 4 hurricane tonight and it is on a collision course with Nicaragua tomorrow morning. Historic rain is likely. This system might become a factor in the United States by next weekend.

November is coming in with howling winds and cold temperatures. By the end of the week though we will have moderated to much-above average temperatures. We’re also monitoring another tropical system, tropical storm Eta, in the Caribbean.

In this episode we tell you what to expect for this coming weekend in terms of the cold. We also recap what hurricane Zeta did this week. Hurricane Sandy made landfall in New Jersey 8 years ago today. We discuss how this unusual event unfolded and how it affected our area.

Zeta made landfall as a much stronger storm than originally forecasted. This storm will then impact us with a lot of rain Thursday morning through Friday afternoon.

In this episode I discuss the latest information pertaining to tropical storm zeta and how it’s going to affect the Gulf Coast. I then describe our weather over the next couple of days and how zeta will affect us and might even be a factor in some cheap thrill snow.

We’re monitoring Hurricane Zeta, which may impact LA as a hurricane in a couple of days. Several inches of snow is also forecasted for parts of the Rockies and Plains as an early season snow storm engulfs the region.

In this episode we analyze why much of the precipitation we’ll see on radar the next couple of days may not reach the ground. We’ll then talk about a coastal storm slated to affect the region late in the week as well as tropical storm Zeta, the remnants of which will likely affect us.

Finally, we give you the latest on tropical storm Epsilon and how it factors into our weather.

Expect mainly dry and above average temperatures this week. We’re also monitoring two potential tropical cyclones, one of which has a small chance of affecting the East Coast.

For Friday into Saturday we’ll have a prolonged rain event. We discuss why and who will receive the most precipitation. Much cooler air will then arrive for the weekend. We’ll tell you just how chilly it might get.

This evening we’ll discuss the rain expected on Friday along with the cool weather this weekend. We’ll also discuss the tropics and the potential for a storm to develop next week. Last, a quick lesson on the Saffir-Simpson Scale. Bear with my speech impediment lol.

In this episode we discuss how the remnants of hurricane Delta will bring in a soggy start to the week. We then explain what to expect for the rest of the week. Lastly, we review hurricane Michael, which made landfall two years ago yesterday in a rare category 5 US landfall.

Delta is weakening, but will still be destructive regardless. The eye wall has already come onshore.

Major hurricane delta is continuing its trek towards the Louisiana Coast, where it is expected to arrive Friday night. Meanwhile, a cold front will move through our area on Saturday and overrunning rains are expected to arrive from Delta’s remnants later Sunday and Monday.
