Alexus reports that the jury returned a death sentence recommendation for Patrick McDowell, for the 2021 murder of Nassau Co. Deputy Joshua Moyers. The sentence was not unanimous (11-1), but a recent change in Florida law only requires 8 jurors for a death sentence. The judge has taken the jury's recommendation into consideration, and a final sentence is pending.
