Dylan Horrocks’ joined me for chat about the re-release of his magnificent Hicksville. I really think the world of this book and it is one of the most read comics.

Craig Yoe returns for a chat about his latest offerings, including new imprint Yoe Books with IDW. We talk about Ditko , Decarlo , Gross , Herriman and a certain displeasure for war. Most of the creators that Craig looks into, seem to have an important impact on comics that at this point, is unmeasurable.

I have been wanting to talk to Eleanor Davis for quite awhile. Her work spans from fun kids comics to really honest personal work. This interview was conducted before latest book The Secret Science Alliance was nominated for an Eisner. It’s a well deserved recognition of a very talented creator.

Benjamin Marra makes some pretty hard ass comics that kicks you in straight in the balls. Night Business and Gangsta Rap Posse are both prime example of what people should be picking up on new comic day. Comic genius Jason Shiga creates some wonderfully unusual works that range from infinitely complex Meanwhile to the delightful and charming Bookhunter. I really love Jason’s work, he is making good comics.

Afrodisiac is one the most ass-kickingest comics of the year, so talking to Jim Rugg was a must to do. It’s a fine mix of spoilation films and 1970’s comic style His other recent release is One Model Nation , a story of a fictional krautrock band from the late 70’s early 80’s. KC Green has to be one of the fastest cartoonists on the scene. His webcomics seem to provide an endless supply of laughs. His new book, Horribleville is a great jumping point and a fine collection in itself.

Someone suggested Malcy Duff as a guest that I should have on, so I checked out his comics and loved them and wanted to talk to him. He has a really great eye for interpreting reality and infusing some really unique ideas. Check out his stuff. Very impressive cartooning.

Jordan Crane and Sammy Harkham chat with me about What Things Do . It’s a webcomic site put together by Jordan that features some great stuff by Jordan , Sammy , Ted May , John Porcellino and Steven Weissman . It was a really great to have the two of them on together, the conversation gets pretty heated at some points.

Bryan Lee O’Malley joined me for a chat his books Scott Pilgrim and Lost at Sea as well as other topics of comicky goodness. I really appreciate Bryan taking the time out of his hectic schedule for my humble little show, while he finishes off his epic series.

Jason T Miles wears several hats in the comics world. He is a Fantagraphics staffer , Comics Comics contributor , Mini-comic distributor and last but not least, comics maker . This was a really great conversation that probably could of gone on for another couple of hours.

Corinne Mucha joined me today to discuss comics, Alaska and roomates. I really enjoy her work. She has a whole bunch of mini’s as well as the Xeric grant winning, My Alaskan Summer. She has a unique take on comics and is one of my favorite young cartoonists right now. Check out her blog for more comics.

I can’t say how much I love Aron Nels Steinke’s comics. He has a really great fresh voice that flows through the pages. His comics are the kind that you can’t help but read, which is probably the best compliment I can give.   Check out his mini-comic series Big Plans and his new book from the fine folks at Sparkplug, Neptune .

My personal early days in comics, was very influenced by Dean Motter’s work. I love whatever Mr. X stuff I could track down and when Terminal City came out, I inhaled that with gusto! His new collection, Condemned , continues the fine tradition. Dean Motter is someone I have wanted to talk to for a while, and it was a great talk that we had.
