Jesus told his disciples that they would be salt and light in the world. God himself is the salt that preserves our fallen world, and the light that shines life into our lives. Once upon a time February 2 was the Purification of Mary. Now, it's groundhog day. We humans have a habit of making the same mistake, over and over again. This time, it's exchanging trust in the Creator for a creature - a groundhog. But Christ is making all things new. At his cross, the cycle is broken forever.
