I'll Be Honest

The Bible urges us to walk worthy of God’s calling; one of the characteristics of a walk worthy of our calling is humility. The Bible also calls members of churches to function properly. One of the necessary ways of functioning properly and building up the whole church is walking in humility.

Satan will often try to shatter the believer's peace of mind by deceiving them into believing the conviction they are experiencing is from the Lord when it is actually from their enemy. If the believer takes this condemnation to be from the Lord, then it can easily drive them into paralyzing doubt.

Can a person be a Christian without being a disciple of Jesus Christ? If we teach that “disciple” and “Christian” are synonymous terms, then are we teaching a works salvation? Can a case be made in the Bible for a distinction between these terms?

We have been given an unspeakably glorious calling as Christians. But with that calling comes the weighty responsibility to make sure that our lives accurately reflect the great worth of that calling. Christian, do you walk worthy of your calling?

Are we honest before God in our areas of needed growth in our lives? In addition, are we determined and resolved by the grace of God to change those areas in our lives that are not worthy of our calling as Christians? We can't expect growth if we are dishonest and unresolved.

What is the difference between faith and assurance? Can a person have one without the other? This is one topic that multitudes struggle with and are plagued by. This is also one of the weightiest subjects in the whole Bible. How can we know if we have a true or false assurance?

The prayer of Paul in Ephesians 3 could be argued as being one of the most glorious prayers in the Bible. But as glorious as it is, Paul doesn’t let us stay there. As wonderful as it is, we have to move on. We cannot stay in the heights all the time; we have to come down and share the glory we’ve seen and experienced in this dark world.
