Colin Charlesworth will be looking to become the first Huntly Manager since Phil Bonnyman in 1999/2000 to lead the club to the Aberdeenshire Cup. We spoke to the manager to get his thoughts ahead of Sunday's final.

Huntly twice trailed before netting three late goals to secure a 5-2 first round victory over Wick Academy in the Highland League Cup. Not for the first time this season, Huntly Manager Colin Charlesworth has seen his side coming from behind to earn a win. After seeing his side concede late goals for the third successive game, Wick Player-Manager Gary Manson admitted it was costly for his team.

Huntly Manager Colin Charlesworth admitted it was a hard-fought win for his side. It was a fourth successive away fixture without a win for Lossiemouth as Assistant Manager Ian Campbell felt they deserved something out of the game.

2024/25: Scottish Cup 1st Round 29.09.2024

In the second Scottish Cup meeting the two sides, it was Huntly who came out on top 5-3 against Wick Academy in a penalty shoot-out after a 2-2 draw. It was Colin Charlesworth’s first Scottish Cup as a Manager as he admitted the tie was a rollercoaster of emotions. Despite the efforts from his players, Wick Manager Gary Manson was disappointed to leave Christie Park with nothing.

Formartine United extended their unbeaten run over opponents Huntly in the league to twelve games with a 3-1 home victory. Having trailed by two early goals, Huntly Manager Colin Charlesworth admitted it was a game of two halves for his side. United Manager Stuart Anderson felt his side should’ve built on an impressive start.

An Angus Grant brace and a further goal from Sam Robertson saw Huntly record their first home win over Rothes since April 2018. Manager Colin Charlesworth was pleased to keep the momentum going following their midweek win away to Banks O’ Dee. It was a third successive defeat for Rothes as Manager Richard Hastings felt losing two early goals in a six minute spell was costly.
