In 1977, Tarock Music, was started as a music publishing company, in Philadelphia, PA, by Rick Shaffer, founding member of The Reds®. In 1982 the company moved to New York City to combine artist management and music licensing by partnering with Basic Management, adding an independent record label in 1992, with the release of The Reds® album, Cry Tomorrow. In 2006, to accommodate an in-house recording studio, the company relocated to Pennsylvania midway between New York City and Philadelphia, for easy access to both cities.
