What does Jesus say to his followers who are troubled? He says that ‘I am the way the truth and the life'. Tim explores this famous statement and why Jesus being the only way to God is such good news! John 14:1,4-7

Jago continues our Questioning Jesus sermon series and helps us think through how to respond to “troubles with death” and “troubles with life”. We see the huge comfort of why Jesus can legitimately tell us “do not let your hearts be troubled” (John 14:1) even in the midst of all sorts of troubled times. John 13:31-14:4

Jago asked the challenging question – “Are you faking it as a Christian?”, and helped us to think through what to do when we recognise elements of hypocrisy within us, and how Jesus responds to our hypocrisy. He also spoke into the challenging situation of high profile Christian leaders who have turned out to be frauds and fakes. John 13:18-30

Josh started our new series ‘Questioning Jesus’ looking at John 13, answering the question posed by the disciples to Jesus ‘Are you my Servant?’. 2021 has begun and the chaos has only escalated. Over the next five weeks we are exploring the chaos of the current moment both for our culture and for us individually. To begin with, Jamie asks how we can have purpose for our lives and the year ahead. He urges us that this comes as we experience God’s glory for ourselves, just like we see in Isaiah 6.

He commented on the mess of 2020 and how these difficulties have highlighted our need for salvation through the Messiah. Our friend Pat Allerton, dubbed ’The Portable Priest’ by the media during lockdown, joined us at Carols on the Common to share a Christmas message. In a year dominated by coronavirus, which is the shape of a crown, he speaks about another King who comes as good news amidst all the difficulties of the past year. To finish off our Don't Lose Heart series H challenges us to do a Holy 360 appraisal of our lives, testing our faith so that we can be re-focused on Jesus. Finally we were reminded of the amazing grace of Jesus and his extravagant love!

Josh finished our Don't Lose Heart series by helping us to work through a Holy 360, looking back, in, up, across and knowing what God speaks when he looks down on us. He encouraged us that this should lead to knowing Jesus better and being more equipped to live for him in everything. 2 Corinthians 13:5-14

As Tim continues in our series in 2 Corinthians, we see that Paul had learnt the secret of the Christian life that we all need to know! The wonder of the Christian gospel is that God’s power is shown most clearly in our weakness and not our strength.

In a time of taking, we can be people who give because of Jesus. Giving is not only an act of charity, but an act of worship as we respond to the grace of God. In this passage from 2 Corinthians 8 and the remarkable and counter-cultural example of the Macedonian church, Jago shows us that we can excel in this grace of giving. Ros continues our series looking at 2 Corinthians 7 and encouraging us to turn to God in repentance. She speaks about the difference between Godly sorrow and worldly sorrow. Godly sorrow produces change in us, it leads to salvation, a passion for holiness and a desire to see justice done.
