Jesus's inclusion of the Gentiles foreshadowed. Elijah went to a widow, a non-Israelite, and she ACTED on her belief. People that we often consider undeserving and perhaps strange are many times recipients of God’s miraculous power. The widow acted in faith, the faith that Israel should've had but failed to live by. The era of the divided kingdoms. Israel had requested a kingdom "like all the nations" and God allowed them to see and experience the realities of an earthly monarchy. First kings records the division of the kingdom. Ten northern tribes rebelled against the Davidic dynasty once Solomon died. We review chapters 12-22 the reigns between the North and South, ending the book of first kings.
