God makes the crown of his creation in Eden, humans. God doesn’t just create them, but endows them with dignity, purpose, and identity.

What does Genesis mean? Who wrote Genesis? Is this the account of all we want to know about the beginnings of the universe? This sermon kicks-off the Genesis series asking some big questions about both the book of Genesis, and creation itself.

Paul has been stoned, shipwrecked, whipped, beaten, imprisoned, adrift at sea, in danger from robbers, and much more. However, the most intense pain in ministry is the daily pressure of his concern for all the churches as he sees people being led into sin.  

Paul helps the Corinthians church see that there are false apostles trying to deceive them.  

Questions for personal reflection: 1) Are you personally more drawn to presentation than the content of what is being presented? 2) Is there any area where you need to further resolve to hold the course, even amidst opposition? 3) Who are you giving spiritual authority to in your life? Gospel Application: 1) If it's not ultimately Jesus, are you willing to turn from these other things to him?

What are the weapons that God has given us to be at war with the strongholds of sin?

God loves a cheerful giver because HE is a cheerful giver. He supplies every need both for us and others. How can we reflect that?  

A sermon walking through characteristics of both good and bad accountability. Are you open to using friendships/accountability in your life to help you in your mortification of sin in you life?  

Potential pitfalls in fundraising: Manipulation in order to achieve a "goal" Hidden motives on the part of the leadership No real clear goals Lack of integrity How does Paul, in his letter to the Corinthians, tried to avoid these so far?

A gospel theology of stuff: God created stuff. God owns everything People like to hoard stuff The abundance of possessions/wealth can be a blessing... ...Or the abundance of possessions/wealth can be a curse! So what am I do do with my stuff? How then, do we handle wealth?

Paul is not DEMANDING giving from the Corinthian church, but is inviting them into an opportunity to see love in action. Why is money so hard to talk about in the church? Here are three suggestions: Conflict of interest American polar materialism Huge area of concern for everyone
