With the new year comes new goals, new dreams, new plans. We work harder and try harder, and live in a constant state of busyness and hurry. Often times we don’t realize the toll this takes on our soul. Dallas Willard said, “Hurry is the great enemy of the soul in our day.” The solution can’t be to quit everything or become a monk, so how do we live like Jesus in a busy world?

There is hope, and hope has a name: Jesus. In fact, Jesus has many names. This series, "A Child is Born," walks us through four of those names found in Isaiah 9:6.  "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

We all travel through life with baggage that we've picked up along the way. Habits, hurts, hang-ups pile on to the load we carry, but it doesn't have to be that way. We can live free and travel light.

We aren't supposed to do this alone, but what does community look like?

Sometimes it seems like everything is stacked against us, and there is no reason to hold on to hope. What do we do then?
