A major construction project on Ludington Street is set to begin April 20, with crews starting milling operations to remove the top layer of the roadway in preparation for water and sewer line replacements. Bay College plans to re-start its practical nursing in May at its Escanaba campus. The program was paused in early 2025 after failing to meet state approval from the Michigan State Board of Nursing. Bay President Nerita Hughes says applicants need to have completed the necessary prerequisite courses to enter the program.

First responders in Delta County were called on to make rescues during the snow storm on the Garden Peninsula were access was nearly impossible due to drifting snow. Delta County Emergency Management Coordinator Paul Geyer gave an overall update to the Delta County Commission on the county's response to the blizzard.

Delta County declared a state of emergency Tuesday in order to get help in clearing roads blocked by drifting snow. Delta County Administrator Emily DeSalvo and Commissioner Matt Jensen say it was something they talked about early on to make sure they could respond to the impacts of the storm.
