Today is Thomas Sunday in Orthodoxy. Saint Thomas wanted proof in the Risen Christ after hearing of His appearance to the Apostles. Jesus showed Himself to Thomas and the Apostles to give them peace. We as Orthodox Christians trust in Christ and the faith of His followers.

Orthodox Christians believe and profess in the Nicene Creed that Christ will "come again in Glory to judge the living and the dead." Jesus speaks prophetically in today's Gospel lesson taken from Matthew 25: 31-46. When He does come each person will give an account of how they loved others in their lifetime and this will determine their eternity.

The parable of the Prodigal Son is well known through out the world, even outside of the Christian Faith. Father Micah shares with us that the turning point of the parable occurs when the younger son "comes to himself". The question is what makes the son come to himself? Father Micah explains that if we hunger for life we will return to our Father who receives us lovingly.

In our society examples of humility are rare. In today's Gospel reading, Jesus tells the Parable of the Publican and Pharisee. These two men who were polar opposites. Both went to the temple to pray but it was the humility of the Publican's prayer that justified him before God.

In today's society people have little trouble finding what they are looking for, except when it comes to God. We must desire and thirst for Christ to enter into a relationship with Him. Today's Gospel lesson from Luke 19: 1-10 tells us of Zacchaios, who desired to see Jesus and he did not let his physical limitations hinder him in his pursuit.

The world can seem dreadful and intolerable. Faith in God as Orthodox Christians avails to us the Grace of God, which in turn helps us move the mountains of darkness and despair in our lives. Though faith and repentance we can receive the light of Christ into the world and our souls.

All Christians are called to witness for Christ no matter our occupation. Today is Jan. 7th and we remember the Prophet and Forerunner Saint John the Baptist who taught us how to direct people to and to witness for Christ.

In our live the perspective we have to things help to shape how we view them. Time is one of those things. How we view time has much to do with how old we are and when we realize that time for us in limited. Through Christ our time can become eternal.

In our world the Nativity Feast can get lost in commercialism. Father Elias returns to his hometown on Christmas morning to celebrate the Nativity. In his sermon he shares with us how easy it is to get caught up the hoopla of Christmas and forget to keep Christ in the forefront.

Jesus called Himself the Bread of Life. In today's Gospel reading taken from John 14:16-24 we here a parable of a man who gives a banquet and invites many to attend. Many of the Church Fathers see this banquet as the Divine Liturgy where we are invited to encounter God through His Word and most especially Holy Eucharist.

Today is Youth Sunday here at Holy Trinity - Holy Cross. Father Micah shares with us that it is better to give than receive. Christmas is all about giving as one of our hymns during this season says. The greatest gift we can give to Christ is ourselves.

Father Paul shares with us that we must be humble and love to inherit eternal life.

We live in a world where everything is mine, mine, mine. In this sermon Father Micah shares with us that Christian stewardship is giving back to God what He has given to us. Stewardship ultimately must be about Christ or it is in vain.

Jesus shares with a lawyer who asks Him, "who is my neighbor?" the Parable of the Good Samaritan. In today's sermon Father Micah expounds on the Gospel lesson taken from Luke 10:25-37, and shares with the listener that Christ is the Samaritan.

Stewardship is a topic people have debated for centuries. In this sermon Father Paul shares with us the meaning of stewardship. He also elaborates on what our attitude should be in our stewardship of time, talent and treasure.

Life is difficult for everyone. In this message Father Paul reminds us that a small amount of faith can go a long way in giving us peace and healing. Faith in Jesus Christ gives us the power to move the mountains of illness and death, life's last enemy.

This is Part 4 of series entitled Salvation Through a Life in Christ. In this sermon Father Paul focuses upon the importance of the grace of God. Man cannot save himself. He needs help. He needs a Savior who will save him by grace.
