Luke 19: - God will not force Himself upon you, but it breaks His heart when people do not realize what He is offering them. because He did not do things the way they thought it should be done, they missed Him. They were more concerned with their agenda than really listening to and following Jesus. Let's not make the same mistake.

Pastor Jim was out of town, so Lael (one of our Board Members) led the service with a time of testimonies, followed by a short challenge.

Ecclesiastes 7:22-8:17 - If you focus on "life under the sun", you will become disillusioned and discouraged. Life here is but a small piece of your eternal life. Focus on how God is at work in your circumstances and situations. Apply God's wisdom, principles, and teaching to your life. See life "beyond the sun".

Ecclesiastes 7:1-21 - We must realize that adversity and struggle is not necessarily a bad thing. The issue is not the adversity, but our response and attitude during adversity. We are encouraged to value each day as it comes and appreciate the things God has allowed us to experience. We are reminded to not hold onto the things of this world tightly, but hold on tightly to God.

Ecclesiastes 6:1-12 - Solomon encourages us to stop arguing with God about our circumstances in life. Accept what God is at work doing. Find the satisfaction in seeing God in your job, family, work, and knowledge. Prosperity is not a good thing if you allow it to be a substitute for God.

Ecclesiastes 5:1-20 - Solomon reminds us that it is important to keep a focus on God and to take Him seriously. It is easy to shift our focus from the Provider to the provisions He provides. Our satisfaction must be sourced in God and not the things He provides.

Ecclesiastes 3:15-4:16 - Life "under the sun" is depressing and confusing. Life as God intended must be lived with purpose and boundaries. God did not design life to be a "solo" journey. Ecclesiastes 3:1-14 - God is above time, but he created time for life here "under the sun". Our challenge is to see God at work in the present in our lives. We spend too much time mourning or past or trying to change our future. We need to see every day and season as a gift from God and learn to value and treasure the "time" we have on this earth.

Ecclesiastes 2 The void in your soul can only be filled with God. While the things that Solomon pursues do provide temporary happiness, they do not permanently satisfy that void in our heart. Ecclesiastes 1 - May you start to see life with God at the center. Without God, everything you do is useless. You are simply running on the treadmill of life and will soon be forgotten. Jesus came so that you could have a "Life under the sun" here that results in others having a life with the Son for all eternity.

Proverbs 3:5,6 - The after Christmas story is one filled with heartache, pain, and questions. Our lives will have difficulties and struggles. The goal is not to live a struggle free life. Our goal is for people to see Christ through our struggles. Our challenge is to remember and keep a proper focus in the coming year.

Philippians 3:12-14 - Paul reminds us that the focus of this life is to be in a forward direction. We cannot change the past, but we can learn from it and use it to help our focus as we go forward. Our ultimate goal is making a life that counts for Christ.

John 1 / Philippians 2 - Jesus came to this earth to offer himself as a sacrifice in our place. He lived a perfect life and died taking our sin upon Him. He was the ultimate gift. May you celebrate the fact that you have received His gift of eternal and abundant life.

Luke 2: 8-20 / Matthew 2:9-12 - It is my prayer that you would seek Jesus this season. That you would make sure you have a genuine personal relationship with Him that changes your life. The Christmas story teaches us that God delights in using people from all walks of life. We are reminded the whole purpose of the Christmas story is to share it with others.

Matthew 2:1-12 - This Christmas season may you be assured of a personal faith and trust in a Christ that makes a difference in the way you live. May you focus on the promise and peace of God as you spend your life being obedient and faithful to God and His word.

Colossians 4:7-18 - God desires to use everyone of us. But we must be willing to be used. We cannot allow our past to keep us from moving forward, because God desires all of us to do the work of ministry.

Colossians 4:2-6 - Paul reminds us to pray for opportunities and the ability to recognize them. We need to ask God for the clarity as we open our mouths to share Christ. It is important to live wisely and make the most of every opportunity. As we speak to people this week, we need our conversation to be inviting and graceful so that people desire to hear more about our Savior.

Acts 2:42 - The early church focused on 4 essential things every time they gathered together. The Word of God, Fellowship, Prayer , and communion. Those 4 things are essential to the life of any believer as well. Colossians 3:18 - 4:1 - Paul reminds us that we are to love our spouse with our whole heart. Our families should reflect Jesus in the way we obey and lead. In the work place, believers should work as if they are working for Jesus Himself. Our Christianity should be evident to everyone around us.

Colossians 3:12-17 - As you go home today, many of you will change clothes. May you also start to change the things in your life you need to change. May we all be grateful this week for what we have been given. May we glorify God in our thoughts and actions in all we do this week.

Colossians :3:1-11 - God has called us to a better way to live. He wants our focus to be on Christ and the things that He represents. There are certain things and attitudes we must change because they do not reflect the life God intended us to live. Colossians :2:16-23 - Paul reminds us that our focus needs to be in the sufficiency of Christ. Rituals, experiences, and rules have a place in Christian growth, but they are not the means to Christian growth. Those things only have genuine value to Christian maturity if they are sourced in Christ.

Colossians :2:8-15 - As believers, we must be careful regarding the ideas and teachings of our day. The focus must be Christ and Him exalted. We have been forgiven, our life cast aside and our new life raised in power and victory. We need to live that way this week.

Colossians :2:1-7 - Walk in faith focusing on what Christ has done for you. Be grateful for the things God has done in your life and do not take the day you have for granted.
