In the final hour, Mark Grote was joined by longtime Tribune reporter Paul Sullivan to discuss the Cubs' walk-off win Saturday and the White Sox's struggles against the Yankees this weekend. Later, Grote listened in as Cubs manager Craig Counsell shared the latest injury updates for the team in his pregame media session.

Matt Spiegel opened his show by recapping the Cubs' crazy 10-9 loss to the Pirates on Saturday and the White Sox earning their fourth straight win with a victory against the AL Central-leading Guardians. Later, Cubs infielder Patrick Wisdom joined the show to discuss his B-hack at the plate, his mother's role in his career and ... umm ... cups in what was a fun conversation.

In the second hour, Matt Spiegel was joined by Guardians radio play-by-play announcer Tom Hamilton to discuss Cleveland's success early this season. Hamilton also discussed the important mothers in his life and explained how they've shaped his baseball experiences.

In the final hour, Matt Spiegel revealed his Team of the Moment and remembered the life and legacy of friend and legendary record engineer Steve Albini, who sadly passed away at 61 years old earlier week. 

Back in 2019, Matt Spiegel was joined in studio by musician Steve Albini to discuss his vast love and knowledge of baseball, his illustrious career that includes his work as a record producer, recording engineer, musician and professional poker player and more. RIP to the great Steve Alibini, who passed away Wednesday, May 8th, 2023. 

In the final hour of Hit & Run, Matt Spiegel is joined by White Sox beat writer James Fegan of Sox Machine to talk about the Sox' 6-5 win over the Cardinals and where the future home of White Sox TV may end. Later, Spiegel previews the Cubs finale vs the Brewers.

In the third hour, Matt Spiegel is joined by Cubs right-handed pitcher Ben Brown who talks about his time in the big leagues, growing up as a Red Sox in Long Island, NY, and what he sees as his role for the future.

In the second hour, Matt Speigel plays a clip from Studs Terkel interviewing Bill Veeck Jr back in 1981 - talking about the exploding scoreboard. Later, callers chime in on the White Sox struggles and question Craig Counsell's bullpen decisions. 

Matt Spiegel was excited to get back to talking baseball after spending the past few days in Detroit for the NFL Draft. He shared what he feels was important from the Cubs playing another strong week of baseball.

In the second hour, Matt Spiegel was joined by White Sox television analyst Steve Stone to discuss the club earning a pair of wins against the Rays across the past two days. Spiegel also asked Stone about play-by-play partner John Schriffen's call of outfielder Andrew  Benintendi's walk-off home run Saturday in which Schriffen called out haters.

In the final hour, Matt Spiegel was joined by Marquee Sports Network analyst and former big league pitcher Ryan Dempster to discuss what it was like playing for both the Cubs and Red Sox in his MLB career. Dempster also discussed his experience of winning a World Series title in 2013 with Boston and shared a favorite story of his regarding his five-game suspension for throwing at star Alex Rodrigu...
