Luke 4:16-21 Doubtlessly, the most important ministry of Jesus is saving us from our sins. But, according to Luke 4, He can do more than that. He can help you get through the traumas of living in a fallen world. He can help you. And one of the most important ministries of Jesus is that He wants to anoint us with the Holy Spirit.

Luke 4:18 Jesus came not just to save you for heaven. He came to set you free on this earth from every sin that can bind you. You don't have to live in bondage. You don't have to be controlled by something else. He wants you to be free from bondage, and He has come so you don’t have to live in it any more!

Luke 4:16-21 The Greek word that is translated as broken in this passage is the word suntribo, which means to break, to shatter in pieces, or to bruise. The word translated heart is kardia, which is where we get our word cardiac. So Jesus is saying, "I came to heal those who have had their hearts broken, shattered, and bruised".
