Peace, Tribulation, Cheer, and Victory Together   Scripture: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33  Too often, believers pick and choose only one part of the verse. Some emphasize peace without acknowledging tribulation. Others focus on tribulation without holding...

The Conqueror’s Victory   Scripture: “…I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33  This victory is the anchor of our faith. We do not fight for victory; we fight from victory. Christ’s resurrection sealed the defeat of sin, death, and the devil.

Cheer in the Midst of Conflict   Scripture: “…but be of good cheer…” — John 16:33b The cheer Jesus speaks of is not shallow optimism or denial of pain. It is courage, confidence, and joy that flows from trusting God’s sovereignty. In Greek, the word means “to take heart.” It is the opposite of discouragement.

The Certainty of Tribulation   “In the world ye shall have tribulation…” — John 16:33  Tribulation includes: Persecution for faith ( “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” — 2 Timothy 3:12). Personal hardship — sickness, loss, financial struggle, relational heartbreak. Spiritual conflict — battles with temptation, doubts, and the assaults of the enemy.

Peace in a Troubled World Text: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33 When the Bible speaks of peace, it is more than the mere absence of conflict. LIVING IN VICTORY: Evicting the enemy is not just about defense—it’s about walking daily in the victory Christ has already won. 

Filling the Vacancy! Scripture: “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.” (Ephesians 5:18)

Cleaning the House Scripture: “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10)

Eviction Notice: Resisting the Enemy “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)

Faithful in the Fight “For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” — Ephesians 6:20 

Boldness in Prayer and Witness!   “And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,” — Ephesians 6:19 

PRAYING ALWAYS! Scripture Reading: “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” — Ephesians 6:18  After describing the armor of God, Paul does not conclude with a weapon in the hand, but with prayer on the lips. 

Title: The Sword of the Spirit Scripture Reading: “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:” — Ephesians 6:17 A sword is both for defense and for advancing in battle. 

Title: The Helmet of Salvation Scripture Reading: “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:” — Ephesians 6:17  The helmet of salvation protects our thoughts from fear, lies, and confusion.

Title: The Shield of Faith Scripture Reading: “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” — Ephesians 6:16 Paul calls this essential piece of armor “the shield of faith.” Faith is our absolute confidence in God—His power, His promises, and His presence. 

Title: Ready Feet, Peaceful Steps Scripture Reading: “And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;” — Ephesians 6:15 This “gospel of peace” is the good news that through Christ, we have peace with God (Romans 5:1) and can walk in the peace of God (Philippians 4:7).
