When I was six years old I met my maternal grandfather for the first time on a visit to his house in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He and my wonderful step-Grandma Gloria lived in a wonderful country house, made of stone and situated by a small stream. I loved that house, with its big front yard, cool basement where my raucous Italian relatives hung out, and the upstairs living room that was as quiet as...

Ever received a letter saying that you've been selected for a special honor or training? Maybe an advanced training at a law enforcement academy or even a Rhodes Scholarship? It's a theme of children's literature. Just think of Stuart Gibbs'  Spy School  series or of course those famous books about a boy wizard and his two, "through thick and thin" friends. Well, if you're a Hillsider,  you've  be...

HAPPY NEW YEAR! You know, when it comes to God, His ways are not our ways. If you look closely at the life of Jesus, the way he lived was utterly opposite to how we live today. So, in 2023, we will be challenged to go the Jesus way. Join us as we explore four ways to go in 2023 to help us adjust our way to the way of Jesus. The best part is that Jesus promises to go with us. Happy year of opposite...

Join us this Sunday morning at 10:00 AM for Week 2 of our Advent series, "Big Present Christmas" from an unexpected biblical source, Galatians 4:4-7. Last week we "unwrapped" the first big package and found Freedom. What will we find when we tear open our second passage, one so big it dwarfs our twelve-foot, star-topped tree? You'll have to come to find out. I should mention that packed into this...
