Our understanding of our freedom affects the way we live. In many ways, our culture tends to assume that boundaries or rules mean a sacrifice of freedom. But as seen in this example, freedom is most felt when we feel most secure, most safe, most loved. So, we will close the weekend by discussing how our freedom as an identity can truly change our lives. 

Some people live their entire lives living in fear - living enslaved. Fear that they might get caught, fear of the light exposing their darkness. People that I know and love - I see them live this way. And let me tell you - that is no way to live. Faith over fear. Light over darkness. Connection over isolation. God wants you free.

Nothing can separate us from Christ’s love! Why? God loves us simply because of His choice, not because of anything in us (which may change), nor anything around us (which may change). He loves us because He loves us. This is the power of the gospel through adoption. GOD LOVES YOU BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU. Nothing can change that, not even your doubts. So, embrace it. Live in it.

We are not slaves to sin, IT IS POSSIBLE to live in freedom from EVERY temptation. Walk in freedom tonight, fight to live to God, knowing that Christ has done the finished work! 

In summary of our sinful condition and its effects, Paul writes, “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”  He’s referencing Psalm 36:1, identifying the root cause of sin as the failure to fear and honor God.
