High & Low

Going off about two shows that transported me to very different worlds, but with similar messages. Poldark (on PBS, BBC, Netflix, Apple, and more) is a historical drama about a man returning home from war to find his home, legacy, and love all lost to him. A love triangle serves as the core of the show, as decisions made by each person follow them throughout their lives. War, famine, and struggle...

The last half of the ladies' first day on the Below Deck yacht culminates in a dinner showdown where Heather confronts Lisa about being the source of every piece of dirt on the women. With everyone but Meredith fully convinced Lisa has been digging up issues from their past and leaking them to blogs and media sources, Lisa is incensed and devastated. As the crew works to maintain service and order...

The Below Deck x Real Housewives of Salt Lake City collab is finally upon us! This episode begins with the ladies reacting to salacious rumors and nastiness about Bronwyn as they prepare for their long journey to the Caribbean. Bronwyn's delayed arrival makes for a tense atmosphere and entrance, despite hostess Heather's efforts to make her feel welcome. Amidst shameless flirting with Captain Jaso...

The two part coverage of a jam-packed episode picks up with Britani meeting with her adult daughter, Olivia, to address her past choices to prioritize men over her relationship with her daughters. After that frustrating and emotional scene, we check in with Meredith and Heather as they debate whether or not to believe Lisa would dig up dirt on people who consider her a friend. Then, Whitney works...

Another episode that will ring throughout the ages of any Real Housewives franchise, this one tooted its way over the line into a two-parter. After an interaction between Bronwyn and her disrespectful, stale, Tater Todd that left me with an angry eye twitch, we learn about issues Lisa has with John. Then, when besties Mary and Angie sit down to address their rift over the Black card blowup at the...

Diving into updates about current events concerning the money-driven imbeciles who continue to wreak havoc and crap on The Constitution. A spring celebration, hosted by Whitney at a vineyard with a dark past (TW: self harm true crime discussion from 4m20s-6min), quickly centers around a threaded face-off between former besties Lisa and Angie. As the two verbally eviscerate each other and air every grievance possible, the other ladies drink wine and enjoy intuitive psychic readings. Amidst an accusation of using someone else's card...

The continuation of Lisa Barlow's "DISMISSED" luncheon that culminates in an impressive moment from a tequila riddled Heather. Fear of mind clouded, pick-me senses dulled, Heather tells Lisa that her lunch gathering is "horrible" and lays out where she went wrong. When faced with even her most fervent of cast-member fans critiquing her, Lisa admits to her faults and emotional reactions to anything...

The news of Dr. Wendy's arrest, alongside her husband, "Happy Eddie", shook the Bravo community because it goes against their entire brand of level-headed, highly educated, professional people living a life of luxury and success. However, it also serves as yet another cautionary tale of how a Housewife "keeping up with the Joneses" in the Bravosphere can lead to an expedited path of financial demi...

A double recap of Orange County covering the meandering and volatile confrontations between Tamra and Gretchen following yet another stale beef-a-thon. This time, it's centered around the aged allegation that Tamra had an affair when cutting a track with a former boy-band member. In episode twelve, amidst self defense classes and shooting practice, Tamra wins a target competition but loses her coo...

After watching Heather pick bland paint colors, listening to Lisa namedrop, and meeting Bronwyn's mom, the episode culminates in a showdown between Lisa and the ladies over her legal troubles. At a lunch with decor consisting of posterboards on easels, the plan to discuss those legal issues quickly devolves into chaos with accusations, confrontations, explosive reactions, and hilarity. Another cla...

TRIGGER WARNING: The end of this pod covers details of a sexual assault allegation with disturbing language pulled directly from a public police report. That topic lasts from 1:03:05-1:21:51.  The second half of a two-part Broligarchy Roast concludes with reviewing an anti-anti-fascist Executive Order, a recently deleted study on the reality of domestic terrorism, and fun with HB1 Visas. In Temecula, Tamra's hyperfocus on Sh...

The Utah ladies kick off their 6th season with an RV camping trip, sans Lisa Barlow and condiments. Armed with residual grudges, scary stories, and camcorders, they put on waders trudge through fly fishing, and their issues. Without Lisa present, the group begins to critique her absence, and her conflicts, with Heather and Brittany eagerly tagging in to come to her defense. As a result, insults fr...

A sleepover at Heather's, and a Temecula mansion getaway hosted by Tamra, are the two events this episode revolves around as the cast works out their issues. Jen confronts her about the old photo she showed Heather and Shannon snaps after suppressing her discomfort for too long. At the sleepo...

After a rant about conspiracy theories running rampant amidst Katie's current-day decision to triple down and deny relaying Gretchen's serious accusation to Kiki Monique, this episode picks up with the women filming without her. Once scene shows Katie trying to get her former bestie, Jen, to acknowledge the issues with taking the polygraph party seriously, but her efforts are in vain. From there,...

The much hyped lie detector and Kiki Monique guest appearance episode devolves into a frustrating mess due to multiple lies and inconsistencies continuing to be pushed. The result is a pile on where each cast member, and even the people administering the tests, contribute to ostracizing Katie, despite several women having untruthful results on key questions. As a viewer, the work required to make...

The excitement I felt renting this movie was quickly replaced by rage as I weathered its 1 hour and 56 minutes of monotone dialogue. The confused, underdeveloped characters appear to have been conjured as mere tools for condescension and finger wagging at anyone who places value on money as an element of a successful relationship. Despite being marketed as a romcom, this movie is in no way a romco...

A triple recap to get us up to speed in the OC. As layered conflicts between the women take us to New Orleans and back, we learn more about what the "deesgusting" story was that Katie relayed to journalist Kiki Monique and then vehemently denied. Gretchen's reaction and additional commentary results in more questions than answers, but one thing is for sure, Kiki wasn't lying. Yet, according to Kat...

Things can seem surreal when insurrectionists and murderers roam free, as those determined to uphold the law are fired, and throwing a sandwich gets you a felony...and a place in history. As more National Guard troops flood into Washington D.C. under the guise of tackling crime, we review the alleged beat-down heard 'round the world when a DOGE staffer with a nickname of "Big Balls" said he got ju...

There's nothing like finding out a good friend started a show you're deep into so as soon as Kiki Monique/@thetalkofshame got caught up, we dove into our thoughts about the season and its climactic finale. Focusing on a handful of families, each inspired by real former dynasties, it's a historical drama that unfolds at the convergence of old and new money. Being about New York City high society in...
