Christ is our substitute in four areas!

Substitution: the action of replacing someone or something with another person or thing.  Christ was our substitution in many ways.  

Mrs. Johnson had a beautiful yellow canary named Tilly.  Its feathery yellow coat glowed like sunshine through a freshly cleaned window.  Not only was Tilly a beautiful bird but Tilly could sing.  From morning until evening, she would sing and so beautiful was her singing it sounded like a chorus of angels.

Jesus, who through everything was created, the One who, with His life, paid the price for our sins, inviting us to come to Him all who labor & are heavy laden.

Prosperity: Spirit, soul (mental, emotional), physical, financial and it responsibilities.

As Christians, we need a firm foundation of what we believe and why.  It's not boring but interesting!

Prayer, King Midas & the love of God

As Christians, we need a firm foundation of what we believe and why.  We need to always "be ready always to answer anyone who asks us to explain the hope we have in us."  (1 Peter 3:15)

In Matthew chapter 6 and Luke chapter 11, Jesus gave us a model by which we could follow when we pray.  "in this manner, pray therefore."  Jesus didn't want this prayer to be a "catch all", one we repeat over and over, in place of a meaningful prayer life.  Our prayers should be made up of the different parts of the prayer Jesus modeled for us.
