Are our excuses valid when we come across someone needing help? Probably. Would Jesus want us to help anyway? Jesus deploys the parable of the Good Samaritan to confront us about our misaligned priorities and to introduce another way of living.

Like the merchant willing to sell everything for an invaluable pearl, are we placing great value on the Kingdom?

Just like the farmer in the parable of the seeds, we are called to sow. And we need to ask, what kind of soil do I have in my heart?
