How to get through suffering. Last week, Trevor gave us an overview of the Christian perspective on suffering, and it may have been shocking to hear that suffering is inevitable for Christians. But though God may not deliver you out of your suffering, He will deliver you through it. Question is: how do we get through? What do we hold onto? And are we being held in the midst of suffering?

In this sermon Trevor Lowden-Stoole brings out four truths from Romans 8:16-25. 1. Suffering is part and parcel of the Christian life. 2. There are three reasons Christians suffer - A. They are identified with Jesus Christ. B. They live in a fallen world. C. They live in an unredeemed body. 3. Suffering and glory are linked. 4. There is a glorious hope for God's children and creation.

In this passage we discover who God's people really are and are challenged to be deeply concerned for people in our families and nations that do not have faith.

Today we look at the beauty of life in Christ from Romans 8. As we explore the passage we see that there is no condemnation (or punishment for sin) for those who have been transformed by Jesus. Now that we have been saved by grace, we begin the process of being transformed into the likeness of Christ. Although obeying God’s Code of Conduct is part of this process, rules don’t have the power to make us better people. In fact, rules makes things worse for us, because although we might agree with them, we battle to follow them. Why is this? And is there a better way?
