Happy Horror Time

Thom Mathews had two back-to-back horror hits in the mid-80s when he starred in “The Return of the Living Dead” and “Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives.” Tune in to hear all about filming these fan favorites, the thing most people don’t know about zombies, and an update on reprising the role of Tommy Jarvis in a number of upcoming F13 fan films.

This week we fawn over how much the new “Wrong Turn” got right in its quest to breathe new (non-inbred) life into the series. We also discuss Laurie Strode’s granddaughter (Andi Matichak) taking a very bloodthirsty kid on the run in “Son.” Both movies have twists, turns, and tons of gore – but only one has Matthew Modine.

To coincide with the opening weekend of “Dreamcatcher,” we interviewed Writer/Director Jacob Johnston to hear all about the making of this new EDM-fueled slasher film, where the story came from, and how he went from working production on Marvel movies to directing a horror movie. And for once, this episode is SPOILER-FREE!
