HalfGen Podcast

This is the episode where I successfully segue into everything while Ross and I continue to go off on incredible tangents. We also covered all of our news topics in a timely fashion! It's like we're getting better at this whole podcasting thing.

Welcome to our first official spoilercast! Though it should go without saying, we're going to be touching on some of the major story elements of this year's God of War soft-reboot/sequel and if you haven't played the game but plan to, this podcast IS NOT FOR YOU! We finally have some news worth talking about this week thanks to the post E3 slump coming to an end! We also took some questions from my Twitch chat at twitch.tv/nightmarecv. We're looking to do more live Q&As there so be sure to give a follow and jump in when you see us recording to get your question answered live on air.    

Turns out when you spend five days talking about games during the biggest gaming event of the year, you don't leave yourself many options the week after.  

As if it needed to be said anymore, Ross and I came away very impressed with this year's event. After having little to no expectations coming in we were blown away by the sheer number of new and exciting announcements and impressive gameplay showings. In this episode, we talk about our favorite games of the show.

There isn't much left to say after Sony and Nintendo wrapped up their respective events. This has been a stand out E3 and I'm already trying to figure out the most efficient way to live in 2019 so I can actually play most of these games. This year's E3, despite being almost entirely leaked by Wal-Mart Canada, has been one of the finest showings in years. The likes of Bethesda, Square-Enix, and Ubisoft continue to show us games we should expect to be playing in the next 12-18 months as well as a few exciting looks into what comes after that. In what will surely be an event to remember for years to come, Microsoft set the new standard for bringing the games to E3. While we appreciated it knowing these games would also be coming to PC, it has to be great to own an Xbox right now. Listen now to get all the exciting details.

For the third year in a row EA is kicking of the true beginning of E3, and for the third year in a row, they did a less than stellar job, despite a few quality announcements. Listen on for more and for a few predictions about what's to come from Microsoft.

Welcome to episode 52 where we talk about how games are super weird right now. E3 announcements are coming out weeks before E3 and the show itself seemingly has no hype to speak of. The newly announced Poke'mon games are a bit of a letdown, PUBG Corp. is suing Epic, and I was way too close to the mic in this one (sorry about that!) Also, Dark Souls is easy, fight me.  

Another week, another podcast! I'm running solo on this one and going over my recent Destiny 2 obsession and my future Valkyria Chronicles 4 obsession when that finally comes out. Never doubt my commitment to get these out to you each week.

I'm going to be a little on the serious side for this one. I've been a part of a few podcasts in my time and have never been able to have one that was truly my own (of course Ross is a part of this too but I do all the editing so I get to take the credit :D ) and make it this far. Chris and Mark are back at it again this week with Ross still figuratively (maybe literally) tied down with grad work. We continue to have a spoiler-free conversation around God of War and remind ourselves that E3 is only about a month away.

With Ross at the mercy of grad school, Mark returns to bring balance to the  ̶f̶o̶r̶c̶e̶  podcast. We do touch on the latest Avengers film (briefly) and continue to speak highly of God of War, and even imagine what Microsoft's E3 presentation might sound like.

A little game came out last week, you probably didn't hear about it. It's called God of War. It's okay if you aren't familiar. Here at HalfGen we tend to play more obscure games like that, some Far Cry 5, Battletech, etc. Nothing glamorous but if we don't play them who will?

Traffic is lame and Ross had plans but we still managed to make time for a podcast this week. That's dedication.
