Deborah and Barak sing a song of praise to the Lord for his deliverance of Israel from the hands of king Jabin and Sisera. It's honest and earthy, but glorious at the same time. 

The Samaritan Woman's story is one that speaks to all of us. She found grace in the eyes of the Lord and drank deeply from the living water he offered.

John 3 is a great story about Jesus and Nicodemus. In this sermon, we explore the question of why Nicodemus would come to Jesus at night. Perhaps it's because he's dissatisfied with his Pharisaical religious life and wanted to know more about Jesus. In short, he was living in spiritual darkness and knew it. Jesus brings him into the light. 

In the third lesson in our Judges Bible Study, we discuss how God allows us to endure some of the consequences of our sin to keep us from being comfortable in them. We also note how He responds to our cries in compassion and delivers us in His grace. 

Love is not irritable. Rather, it is patient, kind, and compassionate. By nature, we are irritable but Jesus enables us to love more compassionately as he lives in us. 

Jesus completely fulfilled the requirements of the old Jewish religion and brought a brand new relationship with God to His people. This new covenantal relationship comes about by the purification of God's grace in Christ and centers on access with him. Will you trust him?

In the second lesson of our Love is Necessary series, we discuss what it means for love to be kind and the way that it challenges us to be kinder people.

In this first lesson of our new Wednesday Evening Bible Study, we cover the necessary nature of love for the Christian life. Without it, we are nothing. 

Why does God do what He does? Because He loves us. Why did He send His son to be born of a woman and under the Law? Because He loves us. Why did Jesus die and rise again? Because He loves us.

How do we properly celebrate the grace and mercy of God on display at Christmas? We sing to God's glory. We ascribe glory, strength, holiness, and righteousness to him. We celebrate the salvation He brings to us.

This is our annual Christmas message. in it, we think about the completeness of Christ's salvation that he freely gives to us all. It's past, present, and future.

There is joy in knowing the forgiveness of God in Christ at Christmas. join us as we focus our attention on the blessing of God's forgiving grace by working our way through Psalm 32 to understand the "why" of Christmas. Jesus came to save sinners from our sins.

In the second message of our Advent/Christmas series -- Restored at Christmas, we look at Psalm 89 and find four places for us to find peace during the Chrisms season. They are: our celebration of God's faithfulness, our praise of God for His faithfulness, our remembrance of the acts of His power, and our knowledge of Him. Let's find our peace in Him!

In the first sermon of Advent/Christmas season, Buzzy Elder preached from Psalm 80 and our need to be restored by the God of Christmas. We all seek to find our our hope and restoration in this life in various places other than God, but ultimately He is the only One who can restore our souls. There is hope for restoration in Him. In fact, that's why He came.

Does our attitude of thanksgiving matter to God? Absolutely it does. He expects us to thank him for all his many blessings to us. We thank him for being good and gracious. We thank him for his steadfast love that never fails. We must learn to take the journey from our natural and sinful state of ingratitude to one of gratitude for all things.

King Jehoshaphat faced a great one as the armies of Moab and Ammon threatened Jerusalem's peace. He brought his concern to God, and we can do that same thing. His problem was great. his prayer was passionate. God's provision was gracious. And, the Judea...

When we gather to worship God, we enjoy an experience with the transcendent God of all Creation who is immanently present with us. This experience is good for us as it gives us rest and restoration in Christ, order in a world of chaos, and roots in the Divine Order of life itself.

David prepared things for Solomon to build the Temple of God in Jerusalem even though he wasn't allowed to build it himself. He used his resources and gifts to prepare Solomon and Israel for a good and blessed future. Worship is central to the life of God's people.

The primary question for all of us who seek peace in life is: does your soul rest in Christ? There are no other places for us to rest that will give us the eternal security for which we long besides Jesus. Everything else is temporary and therefore will ultimately fail us. Jesus is eternal.

Does your should find comfort in Christ? If not, they'll never be truly comforted and your life will struggle to find peace, rest, and satisfaction. Paul encouraged us to look into the face of Jesus for the comfort we desperately need.

In the second sermon on 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, we answer the question, "Who is behind lawlessness?" The answer, of course, is the Devil, who is currently at work in our world. His work is a mystery to us, for we cannot understand why evil, wickedness, and lawlessness is in the world. It puzzles us. Paul also tells us that God, in His providence, ordered the world this way and will work all things...

When will Christ return? He'll return when the Father is ready to send him back to get his bride, his Church. Not a moment before. In this message, we discuss Paul's instruction to the Thessalonians and how it applies to us as we seek to address the obsession in the American Evangelicalism over the return of Christ.
