120 Words 27.03.2018

In the future We’ll be allowed 120 words Every day to save air Need to get through All our routine interchange With an eye on word count I’ll be silent on the phone I’ll just nod to every question Save my words till I get home Just to tell you 15 times I love you girl 15 more I love you so In the restaurant I’ll just point at what I’d like Flap my arms like a chicken (tonight) On the bus home I’ll...

Freyasberg 03.03.2018

Earth scooped out the Devils punch bowl This just one of three he moulded Now a place where Arthur sleeps Until he is needed by England Mothered contours shape recumbent womb Nurturing stone Offering us her harvest Goddess worshiped through the Centuries Fertile and round Feeding a thousand hungry Lambs Choose your naming noun For the next one Mothers, mountains and us Reconnected soon Moving fast...

Crick's Unnecessary Children 11.01.2018

With this in mind: https://profiles.nlm.nih.gov/ps/retrieve/ResourceMetadata/SCBBPG I write Just to say We can paint outside the lines We can cut against the grain Although DNA Leads me down a certain path That you never clearly mapped A father’s pride Is overblown these days It soon dissolves away So cleave a twin With proper records kept We’ll profile the inept Sterilise the weak Sterilise the w...

Prodigy House Summer Song 22.11.2017

Unusually warm for this time - time of the year The heathered hills get my full attention We all win on this wonderful road Ozone seeps through my lungs as I ride Once where the reservoir served man and beasts on the land Now stands a build of rural dreams Horses graze with the sun on their backs Nose in grass with their tails whipping flies 4 by 4 s parked on verge not their drives Look at me.......

Sol vs Luna 15.11.2017

With one heel against the wall Until the early hours Between his breath he's watching for Some movement in the shadows With his eyes pinned to her door He knows she knows He's watching her He sees the handle twitch and then Move slowly to the vertical The moon weaps Left alone for good It never seas the Sun So they can never share their dreams She takes his place so he may rest And though fatigued...

Call me names not heard today 01.11.2017

My older brother died five years ago on this day (2nd November). His kidding around and politically-incorrect language used to drive me mad as a kid, but it would be nice to hear such things from him again now I suppose............................ In your own thoughts That can wound so badly Dig so deeply Past ideas that never worked Contradictions With your Ziggy Stardust hair Loved to tease me C...

Hippocampus 17.07.2017

Will you speak to me? With that halo on your head Goddess, Angel, Witch I never know the difference Embrace the loss And find your cross And show them who can carry on You know the score It’s all as before The only thing that changes is your mind I don’t recognise you now You’re not my type Kneel to your allure Like the weak and destitute Devil, Satan, Priest I never know the difference Embrace th...

Skin (featuring Kevin Dobbie on guitar) 22.04.2017

I finally managed to realise my ambition of getting Kevin Dobbie's fantastic guitar work into a song - "Even in your dreams"............... Skin In the night I'll write you a note On your backbone While you're sleeping On my page The freckles and moles Are connected With my fingers In your dream You're running from the ghosts that you saw in a recent film And they follow Everywhere you hide But my...

Few And Far Between 04.02.2017

With the steroid in your veins You lied Like a child in class In the darkness turning curves You cry The walls cave in on your mistakes Oh crystal eyes tell fluid lies Oh just throw the rope over a branch We're stronger Stronger than you Stronger though we are few and far between Strong enough to release your hold on all of our dreams Stronger though we are few So few and far between Feel your hot...

Yesterdays Rain 30.11.2016

Sunday In the second dale Where we can smile In the summer haze we'll watch the heather wave Following the larks Dance in the sky Right there by the stream Shallow rock beds gleam Sifting through the stones Shadows come and go beneath Whispers Spreading through the leaves Hushed for a while See the water funnel to a hasty flow Leaping over Ford To sleep in pools Melting gold and green Countless br...

Meadow Siren 06.11.2016

From her eyes as black as coal An unsaid command Though her tongue still coiled within Guards an icy breath I keep my distance to avert her siren song But I am drawn to something I feared all along she will hold on to your soul no one else can save you now She will find out all that you know all that you know She'll tear out all that you have all that you have She will hurt you She will break your...

Losing Over Christmas 28.09.2016

Losing over Christmas Training ground rows Yes we're losing over Christmas Just end the season now Yes we've got this feeling We'll be falling like a stone We got all those points cos were lucky As we descend to the danger zone, because we're This year’s flash in the pan Played more games at home So good at peaking early Is our eternal moan All the injuries are frightening The money's all but gone...

Time Flows 14.09.2016

Like the daughter of a drunk who's left to bleed I'll be glad when your gone but I'll miss the chance to believe in you I'm just taking my time to work this There's just too many hours in the day Like the waves in the sea driven mad by the storm I just long for the shore where I'll sink through the sand to your core I'm just taking my time to work this There's just too many hours in the day I'm ju...

Whitby Rain 19.08.2016

Like a Whitby rain Sliding down the glass Looking in To your room Losing grip I fall to the floor Then a soft hand picks me up To wet her own lips Lay me down Hold me close Through the storm And sing me to sleep Sing me to sleep Change me Change me To someone who believes again In all that we've created Change me Change me into someone else To someone who can keep you safe Until the storm is over...

Grow Old With Me 28.07.2016

Hello Everyone. Unbelievably, I've now managed to reach 50 years of age relatively unscathed thanks to my wife and daughter who I love very much. So I just thought I would do my own version of this wonderful Tom Odell song, "Grow Old With Me". My daughter is also on this one if you listen careffully! Please check out the professional original at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rgHYP0dD_4

Making Waves 16.04.2016

Not that I have really experienced anything of this nature, but with this song I imagine what it is like for a band to near the end of their recording process in the studio. The pressure must be pretty high sometimes as well as the tensions. But the music as always must always pull people through. I wish you all well in your own musical projects. Keep on making waves!

7 Gifts 01.03.2016

Shaft of light between the shades Penetrates My eternal night curtailed. Now this light falls at my feet Drawing me “Come walk out the door, be free, be free” Oh what I’ve been missing these years, To feel the breeze cool my face And not be kept in a jar like a bug Come collect just like a bird Fly away Please return another day Take the gifts placed in the tree Begging you Just look up and smile...

In a Big Country 02.02.2016

I have always loved the lyrics to this song and Big Country lyrics in general, notwithstanding the brilliant guitar harmonies that are also in the original and characterises the BC sound - please check the original out at: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1032u_big-country-in-a-big-country_music and buy the original BC album - its a classic! Sicarus 28.11.2015

Turn me into something you already have I can be the one you run to I can be the one to lose Let me bathe you by the riverside tonight I can see the world is changing Let me hold you to the light If I follow all the lights that she has deemed are the brightest Will I burn If I travel down the roads that she has told me are dangerous Will I fall by the way You know You waste it all away You never m...
