Right Side Up series. Matthew 5:6. Congrats to the hungry and thirsty...to those who can't seem to get enough of God.

Right Side Up series. Matthew 5:5. Congratulations to the meek! You know who you are and what you inherit, so you have no reason to use manipulation, violence, or power to help God in establishing his kingdom.

Right Side Up series. Matthew 5:4. Congratulations if you've stepped out of denial and have much to mourn. When you name that pain and mourn the loss, you are ready to receive comfort that comes in no other way.

Right Side Up series. Matthew 5:3. Congratulations if you’ve come to see yourself as you actually are. If you step out of denial and acknowledge your spiritual poverty, you’re in the exact place to receive God’s kingdom in its fullness.

John 1:14. We all want to be fully known and fully loved. And no group of people ought to offer that combination like the local church.

Rooted series: Renewal. 1 Corinthians 3:5-9. We are all ministers of this gospel. It's good news. And our world needs it. Get out of here! Go! Pastor the flock God has given you.

Rooted series: Renewal. Luke 10:1-20. What we do today has implications that will ripple throughout eternity. In fact, our earthly actions can have cosmic implications. Just as the disciples caused Satan to “fall like lightning,” our actions matter in this world.

Rooted series: Renewal. 2 Peter 3:10-13. Heaven is a place to be enjoyed by those who learn to love heaven on while on earth. If you traffic in the ways of the world, heaven might not be paradise. Its flames may be hotter than the flames of hell.

Revelation 22:17-21. What does it mean to pray "Come, Lord Jesus" believing that Jesus is coming again? What does it mean to believe in "heaven"? For some, this is reassurance that everything works out in the end so we should just hang in there until that time. From this perspective, the work is to do everything possible to not get too messed up by the world until we can escape...

Rooted series: Renewal. Genesis 1-2; Revelation 21-22. When you leave out the beginning and ending of the gospel, you get a truncated version that leaves out God's ultimate purpose. It's not just about me. It's about all of creation.

Rooted series: Kingdom. 1 Corinthians 12-14. We live in a culture focused on what can be done for us. But the Spirit is given to us in order to build up the church.

Rooted series: Kingdom. James 1:5-6. Walk through Door #1 or Door #2. The Spirit isn't found on the other side of the door. The Spirit lives in you, which will remain true whichever door you choose.

Rooted series: Kingdom. 1 Corinthians 13:8-10. We've forgotten the Spirit because we were fearful of dividing over the Spirit. That's not an option! It's the Spirit that unites us.

Rooted series: Kingdom. John 14:12; 16:7. We're better off with the Holy Spirit in us than having Jesus among us.

Rooted series: Kingdom. Acts 1. The "wait" is more than something to get through as quickly as possible. The "wait" can be the most formative part of the process of what we are becoming.

Rooted series: Kingdom. Mark 1:15; Matthew 6:9-13. We don't sit on our hands until Jesus returns. Jesus established a kingdom for us to welcome, celebrate, and enjoy. What a moment we live in!

Rooted series: Life. John 3:1-10. God is making all things new. He’s rebirthing, restoring, and remaking it all. Don’t settle for one birth. There’s always another birth awaiting us all!

Rooted series: Life. Romans 8:11. Far too many of us have settled. We don't live in a time where we have the luxury of settling. We are called to fearless risk believing the good news is still good.
