Grease In The Crease

After dusting off our brains from a long, hot summer and time off we ease our way back into the season discussing the first few series of the year as well as getting caught up on the big stories from the summer.

We wrap up our 7th season discussing the NCAA national championship game which a couple of us attended. Hot button topics such as should college games only have school bands play or let sing alongs to Mr. Brightside entertain the crowd? Also we make our bold predictions on things to watch for next season.

Each of the guys were assigned a team to break down as to why the can win and why they won't. Mailbag brings us to the question on if a college hockey NIT would work. Additionally too would bringing a feature from 1995 help hockey and TV viewers. All of this a more this week.

We break down how the college hockey tournament is down to 4 teams now. More so games then growlers, a short mailbag and trivia all on this weeks episode.

The NCAA bracket is official and we do our best at picking our own brackets and figure out who the last man standing is.

This week we make our bracket based on our projections from the conference tournament final games. We get controversial on Herb Brooks and to celebrate our 150th episode, we play a new game. All of this and more on this weeks pod.

The conference tournaments are each broken down as we conclude who gets the at automatic bids and who would be considered for the elusive at large selections. We answer some hard hitting tax related questions in the mailbag. We learn more about Willie in trivia and get Mike's reaction to the fantasy transfer portal.

It is the time of the year for the annual GITC go to a college game together weekend. The boys plan their weekend and start discussing bubble teams as well as the new professional women's hockey league. This and more on an all new episode of grease in the crease.

This week to celebrate the 140th episode the guys are challenged to turn things they dislike into something positive. Also is college hockey turning into the top playing ground for blue chip talent to play before the NHL? That and more is discussed in a very entertaining episode.

After a long Christmas break, the guys dig into and clear out the mailbag.

The boys hand out their mid season awards on best player, coach and moment of the first half. Before a 2 week Christmas break the guys get into the 21st century with a big assist from ChatGPT and proof that at least for hockey fans, AI won't be running things anytime soon.

Stepping back from the college game to the youth level, the guys break down the cost to actually play hockey and if the sport is or already has priced itself out for the average family. On top of that Games and Growlers, Mailbag gets controversial with ranking Minnesota teams at this point and a little Price is Right is play in Trivia.
