John 4:24 God is Spirit, and only by the power of his Spirit can people worship Him as He really is.

" Matthew 6:6 NIV There is nothing more valuable to a believer than our relationship with God our Father. The time we spend with Him privately in prayer will reap rewards we cannot even know or measure.

The physical body needs the spirit of a man to live. Once the spirit leaves the body, the body has to die. "The seed sown is natural; the seed grown is supernatural - same seed, same body, but what a difference from when it goes down in physical mortality to when it is raised up in spiritual immortality! God is not a tempter, but He leads us by His Spirit to where we should go. He delivers us from the snares of the enemy when we are willing to listen and follow His leadership. God is our best defense.

We are learning about the privilege of prayer i.e. dialoging with our Heavenly Father. We will also discover that forgiveness is a gift from Him to us to give to others, and His daily provision is assured to us, His children.

In Luke 11:1 a disciple of Jesus asked him to teach them to pray. Out of all that they saw Jesus do, they wanted to pray like Him. This episode will share various instances of Jesus praying: in solitary places, with or near the disciples, early morning or all through the night. Jesus is our model to pray in all seasons, in all situations throughout all our days.

Prayer connects us to our Heavenly Father for each day. He comforts us, listens to us, and prepares us for all that life confronts us with. Even when we may not feel Him, He is always near to us. We have the most unique privilege of listening to God speak to us through His Word and then responding to Him in prayer. This lesson will lay the foundation for this all -important step of taking one's time to read God's Word with the intention of encountering Him. Even when suffering, God goes through it with us. He wants to lead us into something far better despite the hardships. Trust Him through it all and remember that God provides in the suffering. He even has a greater blessing waiting for us on the other side of it.

Not only is Jesus the good shepherd, He is your good shepherd, if you have received Him as your Lord and Savior. He extends to all of us a personal invitation, so that we can get to know Him in an intimate way. He wants to be known by you and reveal to you what is in His heart.

Taken from St John 10:11, Jesus declares He is the good Shepherd who came to lay down His life for the sheep. No one else, only Jesus, who is God in the flesh, can give us eternal life. His shed blood on the cross makes this new life possible. All we need do is accept and receive by faith what He was willing to do for all of us. Jesus declares in St John 10:30, that He and the Father are one. Also, in John 12:45, that to have seen Him is to have seen the Father. In both instances, Jesus confirmed His deity - that He is God in the flesh.
