What on earth are we here for? Genesis 1 & 2 assure us that every human has dignity and worth, not because of what they can do, but because of who they are - people made in God's image. As God's image bearers every human life has meaning and purpose in God's good world. SCRIPTURE: Genesis 2

Genesis 1-11 are foundational for way Christians (and many secular people) see the world today. Genesis starts with one clear emphasis: that there is a Creator. SCRIPTURE: Genesis 1

Before he ascended to heaven's throne, the resurrected Jesus gave his disciples a mission - to make disciples in every place they went. Jesus' mission is now the mission of Christians everywhere. But we don't go it alone; Jesus promises that he is with us now and forever. SCRIPTURE: Matthew 28:16-20

Why do Christians celebrate Easter? The resurrection is the hinge of the Christian faith. If it really did happen, then we have a source of joy, strength and love that can never perish, spoil or fade - and that's worth celebrating. SCRIPTURES: Luke 24:1-12, 1 Peter 1:3-9

Life has a way of bringing us to the end of ourselves. Where do we turn to hope in those moments? Jesus' encounter with the criminal at the cross gives us hope that no matter how far gone we think we may be, God meets us there to show us his mercy.

We're need unity - in our relationships, homes and world. Yet only one thing is truly powerful enough to hold people together in love - the good news of what God has done in Jesus. SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 3:1-13

The confronting thing about Christianity is that it says that we are 'dead in sin'. Christianity says that we don't just need a little help every now and then, we need to be brought back to life. We all need a guide in life. Sometimes we look to other people, to books or podcasts. Christians have been given the Holy Spirit to give us wisdom to live, and to reveal to us things we would never see for ourselves. SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 1:11-23

Christians believe that we are waiting for a time when Jesus will return to restore all things. But what does he Jesus want us to do in the meantime? SCRIPTURE: Luke 12:35-48

Jesus' powerful kingdom breaks in to set people free from the forces of evil. This power doesn't just come into dramatic situations, but also in the unimpressive and ordinary things of life. SCRIPTURE: Luke 13:10-21

Jesus wants his disciples to always pray and not give up. Yet its only when we can see God for who he is - just, good, powerful and gracious - that we will be able to overcome our doubts and cynicism to pray with persistent faith. SCRIPTURE: Luke 18:1-8

"Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to McDonalds makes you a hamburger." The older son's story in Jesus' parable challenges us to see that just because we go to church and tick the boxes doesn't necessarily mean that we are on good terms with God. God's plan has always been to bring blessing into the world through his loved and chosen people. What God asks of his people is that they would seek after him, live according to his values, and make their hearts and communities a place that is receptive to him. SCRIPTURE: Hosea 10:1-15

We're all about pursuing God with all we are because that's exactly what he's already done for us in Jesus. SCRIPTURES: 1 Kings 16:29-17:1, 18:1-2 & 17-46

Repeatedly throughout history, God has brought transformation to communities, cities and entire countries through his word and his power. We're all about seeing God transform our community of Brimbank with the same word and power today. SCRIPTURE: Acts 19:1-20

We believe that people who come into contact with Jesus have their lives transformed. Through Jesus we're given a new identity, new values and new ways to live. SCRIPTURE: Luke 19:1-10

Since the beginning, God's people were meant to be a living expression of who God is and what he's like to the people and place they're in - especially when circumstances are less than ideal. SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 29:1-14

WHAT WE'RE ABOUT: GOD & HIS GLORY Humanity (and the church) exists because of God and for God. When we lose sight of that, things get out of order. SCRIPTURES: Habakkuk 2:1-14, Hebrews 1:1-3
