Is there any value in making a promise to God? What are we supposed to do when we are around God? If we have wealth, what's the point if we just hoard it up and then die doing nothing with it? These are some of the hard questions we tackle today on Nerds in the Word!

What good is wealth or power if there is no one to share it with? What's the point of doing it all alone. No we are not reading part of Genesis 2 here, but we do seem to be getting a small lesson from it here from Solomon!

King Solomon reminds us that there is a season to everything we go through, creating consistency in our lives. However, the most consistent being in our lives is God in the midst of that, helping provide meaning in the meaningless nature of things around us.

The pursuit of meaning in pleasure, wisdom, and work is apparently meaningless, so then why do it? Why do we do it at all? Well Solomon has a bit of wisdom to throw down at the end of this chapter that will give clarity to what actually gives anything meaning.

Everything is vapour? What does that even mean and how does impact how we approach our life? These are some of the questions we are left with as we dive into Ecclesiastes 1, join us on the journey of getting into Solomon's wisdom!

In our last dive into Ephesians we are seeing how submitting to God affects families, work, and our spiritual climate! Paul is working through living a life after Jesus through three focuses: integrity, the Holy Spirit, and your spouse. Really the question we are left asking is, are we willing to submit to Jesus in all areas of our life?

We are looking at Batman Arkham Asylum and City of Madness. Some really intense comics that can leave you questioning: where is the hope? We also check out some Psalms and a lament (fancy word for crying), that helps give us perspective when we feel hopeless.

Paul reminds us in Ephesians 4 that we need to be united as the body of Christ, but we need to do that in how we treat one another. It is in demonstrating love to one another that we reflect Jesus' love and show that the Spirit is in us. So how do we go about doing that?

We have been adopted to the family of God, but that doesn't mean we are any lesser members of God's family. That's pretty cool! Paul prayer for Ephesians to Level Up in their faith, but how does one do that? Check it out here!

Paul continues to remind the church of Ephesus, and us, that we are part of God's family, this family consists of several nationalities, we are not alone thanks to Him and our adopted family, and we form together the dwelling place of God! A lot to take in, but so good and such a needed reminder in a world that can be very isolating!

We are now hopping into Ephesians 1 on Nerds in the Word! Still exploring the spiritual reality that Jesus invites us into and seeing how that impacts the culture of Ephesus as well as our through Paul's letter. Are you ready for these spiritual revelations?
