Rev. Tom Shinkle continues the series "R-Rated Living" by looking at the importance of relationships. How can the relationships we have in our daily lives help us learn about the possibility of a healthy relationship with God? How are you communicating regularly with God through prayer this week?

On this first Sunday of Lent Pastor Tom unpacks more about our Lenten series, "Rated-R Living." As Christians, there are practices and promises that start with "R" that we want our lives to have and show. This week, Rev. Tom talks about Christian Responsibility, the call to do hard things in the name of Jesus.

In a time of a long winter, after a long year, how do you ask God for resuscitation in your life? What in your life feels dead and you need to bring it to God through Jesus to get new life? Rev. Tom looks at these questions in the context of John 11 in this week's message.

There are different voices every day that are competing for your attention - social media, advertisements, news, and much more. This week, preaching from the Gospel of John, Rev. Tom asks all of us to consider, "whose voice are you listening to?" And, if it's not the voice of Jesus, what do you need to do so you know His voice better?

It's a new year filled with new opportunities for us all both personally and as a Christian Community. In this first Sunday sermon of the New Year, Erin Haven, a Grand View church member and leader, encourages all of Grand View to remember how God has been using us in the past and to continue to allow God to use us and direct us this new year.

On this Sunday following Christmas and last Sunday of 2020, Rev. Tom Shinkle looks back on the year that has been and looks forward to the year to come. What are those things you've learned in 2020 that God is asking you to hold onto? And what things are you being called to not go back to?

This year it seems like, more than ever, people are searching. People are searching for fulfillment, purpose, security, normalcy...the list could go on. Rev. Tom talks about the importance of making room - clearing out some of the negative stuff so we have room for Jesus to make his home in us this year...

In week 1 of Grand View's Advent series "Finding Home," Rev. Tom unpacks the concepts of home and waiting. The truth is we're tired of waiting, we have spent lots of time in our houses, but how can this advent season be special by allowing Jesus to find a home in you this year? Let us allow our prayers to begin today for God to abide in us.

In the midst of this season of uncertainty and changes, what life moments and what traditions have you missed? Pastor Tom talks this week about meaningful rituals and how they help us when times are tough by giving us a sense of the familiar in the midst of the unfamiliar.

There's power in knowing our situation, especially now in these times where we feel out of control and like we're in a fog. Pastor Tom looks at our situation and reminds us of the truth that our God is constant and we are called to stay connected to God through prayer.

In the last week of "Survivor Stories" Grand View member Erin Haven shares his experience with God's promises, the times where it looked like they weren't true, and how he grew to see them in a different light.

Rev. Tom Shinkle continues our series "Survivor Stories" by reminding us of the truth found in James, our resilience and patience can be grown by the trials we endure if we allow the Holy Spirit to use us. Becky Specht, a Grand View member, shares how this was true in her life through her trials with relationships, illness, and faith.

In another week of Grand View 'Survivor Stories' Rev. Tom reminds the congregation of the importance of the people in our lives during the hard times and that life is a marathon, not a sprint. Don Wohlers, a Grand View member, shares how these truths of God were evident in his life.

Rev. Tom sets up another of our Grand View Survivor Stories looking at how life often seems to be going one way, and in an instant things change. Josh Vander Ploeg then tells the story of his family, their struggles, and how he saw God in the midst of it all.

Rev. Tom reminds us of the importance of hearing testimonies from people who have seen, experienced, and lived through God's work. This week, in Grand View's series "Survivor Stories," Kendra Kunkel shares her story of a miracle healing through prayer.

There is power in hearing someone else's story of how God has been at work in their life. Testimonies of faith in God can help point us to also being witnesses for the Christian way.

First witness testimony comes from Alec Amosson, long time attender of Grand View and staff member at the church. Alec uses Psalm 23 to look at how God was and is at work, even when there are times that it looks like he isn't.
