You'll learn how Mamdani could unintentionally reshape the national conversation. This episode explores his schemes including rent freezes and government-run grocery stores. You’ll also find out why the GOP is about to make him their favorite Democrat. SH...

Why do people keep calling Jim Babka about “One Big Beautiful Bill?" Because they know that the co-author of the Read the Bills Act and One Subject at a Time Act could explain why it's anything but beautiful. Jim reacts to Vice President J.D. Vance’s candid comments on how Congress really works including why bills are unread, rules are skipped, and lawmakers vote on legislation they don’t understa...

Taken together, they expose how federal agencies conspired to protect themselves from scrutiny. From missing documents and autopsy materials to the CIA’s shadowy George Joannides and firsthand testimon...

Dave Smith is a rising star, and he’s usually right. But in a recent debate with Alex Nowrasteh, his case for immigration restrictions raises big questions about what it really means to be a voluntaryist. In this episode, Jim Babka explores where property rights analysis usually works, and where it breaks down. He also **corrects himself!** on a point he made in a recent episode, and he explains w...

President Trump is being accused of quid pro quo corruption. Since we're supposed to hate him, no one asks, "Who is the victim here?" Armed with that knowledge, my response is... "You had me at 'tax cheat pardon.'" Here's a unique and rooted take you won't get anywhere else. For context, here's the Justice Department's side of the story: https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/owner-florida-health-care-com...

What makes someone a libertarian? Jim Babka draws a distinction between being a libertarian and holding libertarian positions - effectively dismantling the myth of a “libertarian purity test.” He challenges efforts to smuggle in left-wing or right-wing agendas, starting with Jeffrey Tucker’s controversial 2014 essay "Against Libertarian Brutalism." From there, Jim builds a better foundation for un...

Misinformation and Disinformation. Now, the right wing movement to suppress these things has begun. In this episode, we'll explain how so-called "conservatives" and MAGA types will "go Woke" and join the left in suppression and censorship, led by their Celebritarian Pied Pipers. We'll name names, expose what they're doing, and why they're doing it. Since this is Gracearchy, we'll explain how peopl...

There are four timeless issues in the Kilmar Abrego Garcia case - literally, principles at stake. But appealing to principles, even timeless ones, won't persuade the partisans here. One thing might. What is that one thing? Here's a hint: History swings like a pendulum. The evidence for it has already begun to mount like a slippery slope. CHAPTERS 0:00 Intro 0:25 Empathy with your future self 2:09...

Good Friday question: Are you making the social conditions worse or better? Are you willing to sacrifice others on the altar of your politics or religion? We can move in a libertarian direction in direct proportion to how much we move away from the blame-game, and how much we turn towards our neighbors. Here, we use Rene Girard's Scapegoat Theory to show to illuminate a path. NOTES "The Most Impor...

Is Jesus really Lord? What would that look like like? The answer may surprise you.  Doug Stuart from the Libertarian Christian Institute joined Gracearchy with Jim Babka.  Jesus Is Lord should be a message of hope, not a partisan message of division. So we encouraged Doug to grapple with the questions like...  Shouldn't more Christians lead to more peace? Or does more Christians lead to more war?...

It was an otherwise fantastic interview on a great podcast. We highly recommend you watch the entire show! But Michael Shermer stumbled badly on the Kennedy assassination stuff. On this matter, Jim shows how he doesn't even practice trademarked Skepticism. Using clips from his interview with Reason's Nick Gillespie, Jim Babka demonstrates how uninformed and unfair Shermer is on this one issue - ev...

On Thursday, January 23, 2025, Donald Trump signed an Executive Order to begin the final de-classification and release process of the remaining JFK Assassination records. What is in this Executive Order? What problems might occur based on how it was written? Why is it important that the remaining records be released? Is there a smoking gun in there? Jim answers all of those questions, plus he give...

Socialism is a theory of blame that excuses envy. Popular podcasting socialists (including Krystal Ball, Kyle Kulinski, and Sam Seder) recently gave writer Scott Galloway jubilant viral buzz. Galloway had appeared on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," and the podcasters presented the same 1-minute,20-second clip. Their commentary would be more accurately described as moral preaching. While Galloway was callin...

Jim forgot an important point he intended to make during episode 117: Has Meta Gone MAGA? That episode was about Mark Zuckerberg's recent announcement about content moderation on Facebook. This new mini-episode gives you a clear example where censorship didn't work. And RFK Jr's appointment is evidence that should hit close to home with the Disinformation Obsessed. Be careful what you suppress. ht...

It's not the beginning of a joke. In Episode 117 "Has Meta Gone MAGA?" we covered the Popper Paradox - "the intolerant cannot be tolerated" - and a vivid parable about a bartender kicking a biker out a bar.
