In ancient Israel, lepers were the ultimate outcasts: cut off from society and isolated from worship. Jesus’ encounter with a leper reveals the heart of Christ to not only heal physically but also restore dignity to bring wholeness in life. Today, we examine this decisive encounter with Jesus and how it should shape our lives today.

We live in a world where the urgent often crowds out the important, the flashy overwhelms the ordinary. Prioritizing is more than just time management; it’s about value management—aligning our lives with the priorities of Christ. Today, we will see Jesus model for us the value of truth over mere experience.

Making a claim is one thing; proving it is another. Jesus never demands belief without offering sufficient evidence to support that belief. In fact, the claims of Jesus are proven by the works of Jesus.

Last week, we considered how Jesus was rejected in His hometown synagogue; today, He steps into the Capernaum synagogue, and an ordinary message becomes an extraordinary event. Jesus's words stir a demon over which He takes authority. The contrast is shocking: Nazareth saw Jesus as merely one of their own, while Capernaum recognized and embraced His authority over the spirit world.

The OT is replete with hints and types of Jesus. It can be said that the whole of the OT bears witness to and culminates in Jesus.
