Concluding our series “Just Give,” we are reminded that Jesus calls us to give Him our talents, so we can learn to love and serve others with them. We are often tempted to think that we are insufficient and don’t have what it takes, but Jesus reminds us that all we need is willingness, and he will fill in the places we may think are lacking.

In week 6 of the series “Just Give,” Pastor Jake discusses the importance of being generous with our time. By examining Jesus’ life we are able to see that some of the most important moments for eternity can come when we are willing to slow down and be open to the people and situations that God brings into our path.

In week five of our series on giving we discuss the topic of “Stewarding our Time.” Our time is a gift from God, and a finite resource of this life. If we are not intentional about how we spend it, we can squander the limited amount that we have. God calls us be thoughtful and purposeful in allocating our time towards the things that are eternal and not the fleeting busyness of this world.

In week four of our series on giving we discuss the topic of “Stewarding our Treasure.” God has called us to steward all He has given us with faithfulness and wisdom. Week three of “Just Give” is about "the tithe." Tithing is discussed throughout scripture, and consistantly we are shown that God is not interested in our money, but in our hearts. Giving is not about God’s need for our money, but about our need for God to be allowed into every aspect of our lives.

As we continue to discuss the topic of giving, this week we turn our hearts and minds to the topic of stewardship. Remembering that everything in this life is a gift from God, we are given the freedom to invest all that we have towards our heavenly future.

In week one of the series, Just Give, we learn that God is a giver. Giving can be one of the most difficult topics in the church to discuss, but once we are able to adjust our thinking and give for the right reasons, God can use our resources to accomplish amazing things including healing our selfish hearts.

In the final week of the Welcome Home series, we discussed why membership is an important part of being part of a church family, and what being a member of Grace Chapel Knoxville looks like and means.

In week three of the “Welcome Home” series, Pastor Jake gave his State of the Church address. It was a time of reflecting on the past year and looking forward to the things that God is bringing for GCK in 2018.

In week 7 of this series on the mission and identity of Christ, Pastor Jake teaches on the role of Jesus as The Door. Anyone who will enter by him is welcome, and when Jesus invites you into his kingdom, there is ultimate protection and glorious freedom.

Part 6 of the series on Christ's mission and identity is a discussion of Jesus as the good shepherd. As his sheep, we are called to a nomadic life, but He promises to lead us if we will follow His voice.

In week 5 of this series on the mission and identity of Christ, Pastor Jake discussed Jesus' role as the light of the world. Just like the church in Thyatira, we live in a world full of darkness, but Jesus has the answer for us, and He wants us to step out of the darkness into His light.

In this fourth week of the series on the identity and mission of Christ, Jake discussed how Jesus is the bread of life. The church in Pergamum was compromising their standards to conform to their culture, but Jesus offered them a lasting gift that He still offers all who will accept!

Part three of the “I AM” series discusses Jesus’ role as the resurrection and the life. Pastor Jake described the interaction between Martha and Jesus shortly after Lazarus died as well as the words that John sent to the church at Smyrna, and the life altering truth that comes from having a Savior that is the Resurrection and the Life.

In part two of our discussion of the mission and identity of Christ, Pastor Jake discusses Jesus’ role as the Vine, his followers as the branches, and God as the vinedresser, and how Jesus’ love pouring into his followers is the true source of life.

In the first sermon of a new series: “I AM”, Pastor Jake lays the groundwork for a 7-week discussion about the mission and identity of Jesus. As we look forward to the Christmas season, we will discuss the importance of who Christ is, and how his attributes should impact our daily lives.

In this passage we see a picture of Jesus’ love for us, and how He works to redeem our lives in the midst of a broken world.

In this week’s sermon, Pastor Jake continues a study through the Book of Ruth with Part 4 “Hold Fast to Rest.” We explore the story of Naomi instructing Ruth to seek the covering of Boaz. We learn that the way to receive the rest Jesus has for us is to walk in humility by listening, obedience, vulnerability, boldness, and trusting.
