Matthew 9:9–13 Having shown that he has the authority to forgive sin (Matt 9:1–8), Jesus now tells us that he has come to call sinners to follow him (Matt 9:9–13). This is the text where we get the idea that Jesus is the Great Physician. He has come to minister to those who are sick with sin and he wants us to follow in his footsteps.
